I have recently purchased AlamDV2 and it has worked off and on for the past two days. Occasionally I will get this director player error message: "Unable to load movie playlist. Does the INI file exist? It must contain a section "[Movies]' with an entry 'Movie01=Pathname.dir'." I then click "ok" and another message comes up: "The projector is stopping." I click Ok once again and a final message comes up: "This application can not run." And then it just closes. After I see that message once, the only way to open the program again is to reinstall it. This is an incredible inconvienience because I have many plugins, so everytime I reinstall it takes over an hour to get up and running again. Can anyone tell me whats going on and how I can fix this?

Thanks,
T|E

No, you misunderstood my problem. I get this error message when I open the program...not when I try to load up files. It doesn't even let me get that far.

I assume the guys that posted before you got it sorted or they would have posted again(I hope anyway)

PM one of them and see what they say.

Next, what color depth are your running at when ALAMDV is installed?

Is Quicktime up to date?

Are you adding any extra plugins to ALAMDV2 before you start it the first time?

Quick Time IS up to date, but it does not work. I cannot open it.

Yet when an online browser shows up, quick time runs. I just can't open it on command.

My whole setup is messed up.

Uninstall Quicktime. Download the Quicktime installer again and reinstall it.

If you install AlamDV2 in a deeply nested dir you will get this error. Make sure you just install it in the default installer dir "Program Files" and it'll be fine.

But it won't be fine!! Cause it never is fine! I've tried everything a million times and no success.

I uninstall quick time, fully get rid of every QT file. Reinstall it. Still doesn't work, but I have it on my comp.

Alam DV 2. I uninstall and reinstall that. It works the first time I open it. Then, if I restart my computer, or, if I close the program, and try to reopen it, I get the error.

I am clueless.

If you've tried everything, wouldn't you have found the solution already?

What type of computers are you guys running, PC, MAC. What OS, Mac OS X, Classic, Mac Os 9, Windows xp, windows me, windows 98, etc. If you are trying to work it with OS X or Classic good luck because it isn't compatable. AlamDV 3 will be fully compatable with Mac OS X, however.
