the problem with that kind of animated plug-ins is that you have to film from a certain angle to make it look good.

If I may just add something.

The walking skeleton army plugins are designed so that they will fit into any film with a normal camera angle.

You have asked for skeletons that fight, while this can be made into a plugin the chances that it will get used is very low and if you was the only person to use it your camera angles would need to match to make it look worthwhile.

I noticed you said in another post "but I don't want to buy a program for just making a skeleton, so please make one please!"

You have now asked for Droid, alien and skeleton, Poser will do those and i'm sure by the end of the day you would have asked for another plugin.
Try a demo first of poser, see how you get on. confused

I agree with B4 whereas some things on here have been made some things just wouldnt work as a plugin and a fighting skeleton wouldnt really, and as he said Poser is a great program for that kind of thing, im sure you would find it a great program for what you want to do

Yeah, as an image sequence. Not as a 3D file.

and yeah... im pretty sick of "ultra-n00bs" (though i may be one myself wink ) telling us to "do this" "make this" when they really want to say "hi, im an "Ultra-n00b", im to lazy and cheap to buy prog or a magazine with a prog in it, so im just gonna come here, tell you guys that alamdv IS a 3d prog, and demand that you make plugins that will look like crap to put in my n00bish movie. and no im not saying thanks"
in reality, ALAMDV IS NOT A 3D PROGRAM. IT NEVER WAS A 3D PROGRAM, AND UNLESS SOMETHING CRAZY HAPPENS... ITS NEVER GONNA BE ONE. the only reason there are "3d plugins" is because in the ***early days of alamdv, people thought that they were helping people who were less fortunate with their 3d needs. but times have changed, you can get cheap or free 3d programs now that do these things infinately better than alamdv ever could.*** so just go out and buy something.
Sorry for my rant, but i have posted innumerable posts about how alamdv isnt a 3d app. now, i understand that people keep coming to this comunity and a lot of them think that alamdv is a 3d program based on some of the plugins. This is NOT the case. Thankyou.

*** = Derived from a post buy b4 biggrin

Way back when ... I created (regretfully) some plugins that made use of 3D objects. I was starting out in 3D and had come across AlamDV and someone asked me whether it was possible. I played and voi'la - created a heap of 3D plugins that could be used in regular camera views.

I no longer make plugins. Mostly because of time, but also because I have gone back to creating 3D objects in movies the way you should: using 3D software.

The purpose of AlamDV is to create effects like lasers and gunshots. But it is not meant for the 3D side of life, especially movie and interactive characters that require scripting and other objects to make them appear to interact with the scene.

For example, you might have a space fighter plugin you want to use. But the plug in cannot turn or show the craft spinning, or yawing, or turning etc. You have to "film" that type of sequence in the 3D app itself and export it to the clip you want to use, whether still shot or animation. You just can't do this in AlamDV. This is not a criticism - it's a fact. If the team wanted it to do that then they could not make AlamDV in Director as it is now and it would take a hell of a lot to make the program do this.

I also have to agree that there are a lot of n00bs out there who just rock in and go "hey, I want a plugin that cooks my breakfast, turns around, shoots a splodge of goo over an enemy target, or while doing the soft shoe suffle". Sorry - I ain't making anything for someone who demands it, and I certainly ain't making anything for someone who has no appreciation of the time to make any sort of plugin, be it 3D or regular.

Me Ultra n00b? well Im gonna say this for marek and all of you again Alamdv is not ment for 3d I tryed to get someone to make me a 3d plugin for alam guess what they told me "bye" so i dicided not to take it and learn maxs once again "Alam is not ment to be for 3d" if you do make a 3d animation plugin all you are doing is converting 3d into 2d and loosing lots and lots of quality. I say start with a simple 3d app. like canvas witch is free at www.amabilis.com and work your way up to like 3ds max. neutral

i dont know whats wrong with good old fashioned stop motion animation- its easy and you dont have to buy expensive 3d software and half the time it looks more real than cgi anyway- just look at the original star wars trilogy for examples.

go and buy yourself a toy battle droid and create some badass looking shots.
