Is it possible for someone to make an animated starfield? For example, when a spaceship is flying thru outerspace, the ship is centered while the stars in the background are moving left or right, giving the effect that the ship is actually moving. Can anyone make something like that? Thanks!

there are a few hyperspace plugins like that.
I wonder, if you had capture software ( like camila ) you could grab windows own screen saver, flying in space ?

are you talking about star wars or something else like star trek- cos the effect is different depending on what you need.

What I was refering to is not the hyperspace effect but instead, when the spaceship is sideways, the stars move from right to left or viceversa or like a flyby type thing. I think Jake is correct about describing it as a "Star Trek" type effect.

well i guess you could just make some layers of stars on after effects and put the layers set to screen and just animate them moving across the composition at different rates- that might work?
if you dont have after effects i could make you a plug in if you want?
although i just thought- in star trek the stars kinda have that rainbow streak effect on them...

Unfortunately, I don't have Affect Effects. Jake, if you don't mind, I would highly appreciate it if you could make the plug-in. Thanks a million! It doesn't have to be fancy or anything. No rainbow streaks would be needed. Just simple stars. They don't even need to be streaks, just white dots. Well, whatever's easy for you. Thanks again!
