I'm trying to see if I should purchase this program or not?? I already and semi-use Adobe After Effects. But the learning curve is killer sometimes!! I'm looking for a supplemental FXs engine to use for quick and easy effects. At the moment I'm doing all my rotoscoping frame-by-frame. And I can see where AlamDV would help out a lot in that department, but I'm really interested in learning more what this program can do before I get it.
Can anyone here help sway my favor in getting AlamDV??

Yes, I recomend getting AlamDV2, mainly because of all the time you'd spend rotoscaping you could have finished and rendered that same scene 12 times (rough estimate). And, if there aint any of the fx in the plugins section, you can make or request one.

And think of it this way, if we are suggesting AlamDV2 to you because its great, think of AlamDV3.

I would say buy it.

But it took me nearly a year to buy it as £49.99 is a lot of money for a skool boy!!!

But this program can do the works simply and easily and im only 13!

anonymous

you dont have to rotoscope frame by frame AE

however Alamdv is a good tool to ADD to a scene...NOT make it

dont confuse them

(in my opinion anyway)

Ok so I hear you guys saying get it. But to me it looks like I can do most of this stuff already (minus the plug-ins) in Corel Photo-Paint. I can distort, opacity merge, scale a multitude of overlay objects/images. Which for the most part seem to be what the majority of plug-ins really are. I was hoping someone would post a dynamic picture enhancing or rotoscoping specific tool that would sell me on the product. I'm not happy with the current tutorial, they explain the use of the program fine, but they don't show you much on how to actually make something, like light saber battles for example. Is there a place that has these type of tutorals? If so I must of missed it.

Welcome to the community. smile

Don't forget you're also entitled to a free upgrade to AlamDV3 when it is released. You'll see a huge improvement at that point. We'll also be doing new tutorials which will illustrate the power and potential of the program.

Thanks Tarn!! The upgrade was one of the deciding factors in me getting it. Also I found the current tutorials somewhat lacking for my personal needs, but its great to hear more are in store!
