Revolution, blue sky and a ship ?

Well, I thought about one thing after watching the Revoulotion trailer some week ago. at the end just before the titels you can see a starship or something crach down with a blue sky behind.
The real world hasnt got a blue sky, and the matrix desent really contain starships (if they weren't running a program)
so what i thought is, the real world prolly has been saved , or what do u think?

I was wondering the same thing. Most likely there will be some crazy thing we couldnt even begin to understand. Like Neo's powers in the real world? and smith being uploaded to a guy not pugged into the matrix? Yeah. i just think there is something like those.

smith was already in the real world in reloaded. but i think this one is gonna have a better plot the reloaded. The first one was more like a copy of Dogma. If you think about it, they are like the same

If you look closely in the club scene near the start of The Matrix, you can see Jay and Silent Bob bopping away in the background.

OK here is the biggest Matrix Revolutions spoiler post ever made...http://www.thelastfreecity.com/zionswitchboard/messageview.cfm?start=0&catid=40&threadid=17082
This guy "Speak_The_Truth" has received a bunch of crap for the spoilers that he has given out and some people are flaming him for BSing everybody...I believe that he has seen the movie for the simple reason that he has brought the most unique and intriguing ideas to the table...Ideas that in over a year of speculation haven't even been thought of...Check it out....but don't get mad at me if the spoilers ruin your experience November 5th...

Those sound like opinions to me. Not like he's actually seen it. He's just detailing things he saw in the trailer with what he thinks.
If I had my way, the way The Matrix Revolutions would end is with neo waking up at his computer just like in the beginning of the first movie, only the computer doesn't say "Wake Up Neo". If it were my movie, that's what would happen, because of the whole Alice's Adventures In Wonderland ties thing. There are so many similarities between "Alice" and "The Matrix" it has led me to believe that The Matrix is actually loosely based on "Alice" and doesn't just have similarities.
Was that a spoiler? Didn't think so.
Ps. Who agrees with me on the Alice thing?

You should go through and read all of the guy's posts....there are about 40 or so pages....later he starts the answer questions that people give him...the only questions he won't answer are those that pertain or allude to the ending of the movie...he even has a post where he states only spoilers about things that aren't in the trailer...there is no Matrix within a Matrix...or Zion within a Matrix...read all of his posts before you say that he is only stating opinions...
And Aculag that whole dream thing is so cliche...

The dream thing is cliche, yes, but why not? If it were my movie, I'd aim to piss people off with the ending. That would piss a lot of people off. That's just my style. That or Neo should die. Something very bad needs to happen in order to bring everything back to normal. Maybe he has seen the movie. Still the thing about the blue sky isn't really a spoiler. It's just a logical reason for it. I don't want to sit though 40 pages of it, but I'll take your word for it. It'll be interesting to find out what actually happens.
I just thought... Anything that happens at the end of that movie is going to be cliche. It's a "Hero Saves The World" movie. So unless they do something really unexpected, like him waking up, or him failing, it'll be cliche. Even if the unexpected thing they do is cliche too. It's just a reversal of expectations. And that's a good thing.

Maybe the clouds broke up a little since there have been six Matrices since the sky-bombing. We haven't seen the surface of the planet in the real world yet. In the first Matrix, that was just an estimation of real life.
Posted: Sun, 5th Oct 2003, 11:57pm
Post 13 of 45
The real surface is in the trailer...the sky is blue because the ship is flying over 01 and when the humans smoked the skies they couldn't smoke within close proximity of 01...the smoke has worn off as it would tend to do after a couple of hundred years...so the machines re-smoked the skies....its just another method of control...

I would laugh until blood came out of my eyes if Neo were to start choking the Architect and he eventually turned into a cat. Read Through the Looking Glass if you are confused.
I don't really think the whole plot of the Matrix is based off of Alice. I've read both books and seen both movies and I can't see similarities other than the obvious: Follow The White Rabbit, eating things to get you where you're going, Going into the Looking Glass, not breathing real air (in Looking glass, someone asks Alice if those are real tears she thinks she's crying), going down the rabbit hole, and others.
Maybe giving us some parallel plot elements to set us up.

Well here's a site that ties in The Matrix to multiple references, some Alice, some not. The 1st and the 8th paragraph have the most of the similarities: http://personal.centenary.edu/~aschiffn/matrix2.html

The Matrix, and all it's characters, were totally created by humans. Everyone we see, Neo, Trinity, Oracle, everyone, are just AI. Humans created them for AI advancement purposes, and for some reason just never had the heart or gull to put them all down. So the whole movie has just been a big toy with our emotions.
For those of you who have seen the Animatrix, there's a brilliantly shocking (and importantly microcosmic) moment in Second Renaissance where an attractive woman is cornered and mauled by a gang of hostile men during the robot riots. She is wearing a Red dress. As they tear away the screaming woman's clothing, you initially feel a sting of desperation for her imminent vicitimization, but then synthetic flesh is smashed open to reveal her as only another robot, and you realize that your feelings have been manipulated, your sympathies misplaced onto a manequin
of cold metal. ...It's a very strange sensation -- a horrible betrayal of perception, like the glare of sunlight showing new truth to those within the cave of Plato's famous analogy.
This is also why everyone in the movie seems to have robotic dialouge, straying from much emotion. While everyone is on their high horse talking about how bad the Wachowski brothers screwed up, when in reality, this whole time they have been mind screwing you all so hard that you never even knew it was happening. Imagine how everyone is going to feel when they find out that the character's they've been caring about for the past 4 years are all meaningless, lifeless, robots. It's going to be great

Haha. Wow, all these spoilers are ruining the movie for me.
That would be kickass flip.
Or what about this?
It wasn't a dream after all, but it wasn't real either. The entire thing was just a movie! Neo, trinity, morpheus, everyone were just actors in a huge multi million dollar epic action movie, and at the end, the audience walked out of the theater booing because of the fact that the movie didn't have an ending, but the film got caught in the projector and burned.

Well all I know is that The Matrix is pretty much my life, and Neo and Trinity visit me in my dreams, and I ask them what is next, but then they say that I have to pay eight dollars to find out, then I grab their faces and rip them off, and it turns out they are really the Wachowski Bro's in disguise.

Um, I've hated everyone since, well, I can't remember. Too much hate running around, can't concentrate.
I DO know then ending though. Turns out it was all just a con. Trinity and Morpheus and Agent Smith put this whole thing together just so they could steal Neo's wallet. The REAL end twist is when they find out he's poor and only has a few bucks. Everyone has a hearty chuckle as it fades to black.

That was terrible, couldn't have been a worse ending. I'm shocked it was so poor. Appart from about 15mins that was maybe the worst film I've seen this year, well appart from Reloaded.

The sheer disappointment I felt walking out of the cinema reminded me in a strange way of the elation and excitement I felt when I saw The Matrix for the first time. Some things change.
The battle for Zion is one of the most amazing things I've ever seen in a cinema. The rest of the film was ghastly. Quite how a single film can contain such a range of quality utterly perplexes me.
I think I'll remember the Matrix as the biggest missed opportunity in film history.

I agree the ending wasn't the greatest
and i didn't see any significance to some a part of it For example- the french guy and train man - like wtf? theres no point
I was generally pleased with the action - fight for Zion , neo & smith....
and the story doesn't seem to have TOOO much going on. focuses mainly on a couple things
I didn't think it was TOO bad overall though

I can't believe you guys didn't love it!!!!???
The end was a little bent with all the Christian Symbolism, more refrences to Descartes than could be covered this side of a Ph.D. thesis and the odd Nietzsche analogy thrown in for good measure, but what a totally amazing piece of work.
It's refreshing to see film-makers flip both middle fingers at the audience and the studios occassionally.
I agree about the Zion fight scence. Holy sh*t!!!!! If this doesn't set the bar beyond reach in terms of SFX than nothing will.
SPOILER COMING, RUN FOR COVER!!!!::::::
I had one HUGE problem which I'd love to hear opinions about- quite possibly I missed something:
1. Neo is stuck in the Matrix at the start of the film......lost in limbo.
2. He appears on a table inside the Logos (Niobe's ship) beside the dude whose body Smith has inhabited.
3. The members of the crew constantly banter about how his brainwaves indictae that he is "jacked into the Matirx"- obviously he's not physically.....there are no cables.
4. There are a series of scenes that take place inside the Matrix and then we are shown Neo being "unplugged" by members of the crew on one of the interface chairs......
What the hell gives!!!!! This had to be deliberate or did I pass out!!!!?? When did he connect????!!! Two realities or one!!!??? Or is it Neo's reality......Trinity makes some interesting comments in the machine city just before.....well........you know........
Any suggestions.......comments........Matrix within a Matrix........???

I think the "in-between" kind of thing is because Neo stopped the machines with his mind in the real world, so he went into a coma. whatever he did to stop the sentinals put him into a "in between" matrix???
i dont know haha

You may laugh at yourself but you're probably right and that would make sense.........at least it makes sense to this guy.
Not quite plugged in not quite unplugged...........where any of them....ever.........I think I need another drink!!!!!

*SPOILER* (kind of)(
in reloaded.... you basically get shown smith coming into the real world...Neo dreams it. He dreams 2 guys running from smith. smith takes over the last 1 then goes back into the real world....it all fits!
sorry if that was obvious haha i didn't realize until i watched reloaded again.

That wasn't a dream, it really happened. However, the fact that a) you thought it was a dream and b) didn't realise the significance of it until now just goes to illustrate the completely bodged narrative in Reloaded.
It's another case of the Wachowskis making random stuff up on the spur of the moment to serve the plot. You can't make up a new rule for your fictional universe and use it in the same scene. It's terrible narrative structure. There's an age-old rule - if you want to use a gun in the third act, you have to see it in the first act. Otherwise, when you pull out the gun at the end people will be like "huh, where'd that come from?"
Revolutions was filled with it even more - the defeat of Agent Smith was made up as they went along. There was no way we could have foreseen it, because the technique Neo used didn't even exist or have any kind of precursor. He might as well have pulled out a small pink rabbit and danced around it, it would have made as much sense.
