It's late and the polls aren't offically in, but it seems as though our boy Arnold has won the election. Obliterating Davis and other candidates in exit poll counts, it looks as though he will indeed be the new governor of California.
Figured I'd kick off the celebration thread a little early so I can check things out in the morning. Anyway, hip hip hooray!

If you're gonna be like that, at least look on the bright side: It's not Larry Flynt or Gary Coleman.

I live in California and I think it's totally awesome that Arnold

Ari, I wouldn't talk about Arnold's speech too much because
your spelling needs some work...

All 3 of those words are in English...

<games> An English-like language used for Adventure games like "The Hobbit". Inglish could distinguish between "take the rope and axe" and "take the money and run".
But back to the topic at hand. Arnold can't do any worst than Grey Davis, but then again I don't know that he can do much better...Only time will tell the story of Arnold in politics...

Arnie can be president if he takes a machine gun and takes the Senate, Congress, and the current president hostage, and forces to change the laws so that a foreigner can take office. That's what Reagan did, right?

And now those hypocritical democrats say they have 500,000 signatures for his recall. Seriously, they say that Republicans are hijacking democracy (Even thougn Gray Davis was a piss poor governor and should have never been elected. You can blame the general public for that.) and yet they go for their own petition before Arnie is even in office. Seriously, you can't recall someone before they're even in office! They don't even have a reason to, other than the fact that he is a republican, and all republicans are clearly heartless bastards.

Well considering Arnold is for all purposes, a social liberal, he will do no such thing as terminating the taxes. The best us people living in California can hope for (yes, I live in California and did vote in this *historic* election../me shrugs) is that he will keep the taxes where they are it. Where he is considered republican is when it comes to business and things of that sort...So lets not mix up our political divisions here...
And no, I did not vote for him. I am more a conservative so I had to go with McClintock...Although, I am not upset at the results, i am not necessarily jumping for joy...Oh well

Arnie is a strong buisness minded person. He knows how to fund and maintain a buisness. This is what California needs. Someone that has his own money so he has less of a reason to steal it.
Arnie is a self made man and knows how to make things sucessful. Besides he is brand new in the realm of public office so he has had less time to become currupt and ineffective(is that a word?).
Lastly the language bit is silly. A large percentage of that state speaks spanish. Should he not have run becuase he does not speak espaniol?
where was I going with this?
Oh, yeah, if I lived in CALIE-FOUR-KNEE-YA I would have voted for him.

Does anyone else remember the lines in "Demolition Man" where Sandra Bullocks character mentions "President Schwarzenegger" to Sylvster Stallones character. She informs him that he was so popular that they made an ammendment to the US Constitution to allow him to be elected President..... I can see it happening.... Talk about the truth being stranger than fiction!
