When i try to use the explosion effects that I have recently download, this one being the error explosion. It supposedly installs fine but it wont load it claims "Index is out of range." "Script error. Countinue?" This seems to happen with every explosion effect I have downloaded and tryed to use, but the same creator. My version is 2.1.5 and I have re installed, and am in32 bit color, and have the latest version of Quicktime..

Can someone please help me?

Thanks!

Which specific explosion effect is causing this problem? I can check the file for you to see where the problem lies.

It seems to be any of the air explosions made by Sollthar and some of the ground explosions he has been making. They all detect and install on startup and then install fine but then when you go to use them it gets that index error.

This also happened with the "Dancing Bond Girl" mask that I downloaded, except it just doesnt give me the script error, it just freezes the program.

I've checked all those plugins and had no problems. There are a few things that could be going wrong. Firstly are you trying to use an old project file? If you are using a project file that was created when it first screwed up then its likely the file is corrupted and you shouldnt use it.

The other thing that could cause problems is if your computer is adding random files to the plugin directories. Windows likes to add hidden thumbs.db files in directories when you view them, these will mess up AlamDV. Its also possible you have some sort of virus thats adding or corrupting files.

What I recommend you do is uninstall AlamDV and make sure the program directory and plugin directories are deleted entirely. Next make sure that you have "Show hidden files and folders" enabled in your folder options. Also make sure you have an up to date version of the plugin zips. Then reinstall AlamDV and install just one of the plugins that wasnt working before (make sure you preserve the directory structure with winzip).

If that doesnt work then get a command prompt up and type
dir "C:/program files/alamdv2" /S /B > alamdv2dir.txt

and then mail the alamdv2dir.txt file to us at team@fxhome.com

You want me to map that directory so that you can view all the files?

What application are you using to unzip the plugins?

The directory structure seems ok, so I think it may be a problem somewhere else. I asked you to reinstall AlamDV and only install a single plugin that you are having a problem with, but you seem to have installed all your plugins again. Could you please reinstall the program and try just one plugin (make sure you have the latest version of it from the website)

Yes, the latest version of AlamDV is 2.1.5 (I expect the other one you are seeing is just a typo). As for the plugin, just download the zip file from the website again to make sure its up to date

Ok same thing happened. Would you like the readout again. I also took a pic of the screen with the error message on it if you would like that.

I GOT IT TO WORK!

There was something going wrong with the way I was extracting, I downloaded winRAR and tried extractig with that and that worked just fine. The effects work now.

Thanks everyone!
