I downloaded several plugins of ground particles flying up to simulate bullet hits and some muzzle flashes. i follow the proper procedure when installing but it doenst work. after hitting the plugin loader (Mac) it says you have 19 new effects and 17 deleted ones ( the numbers change). Does this mean the computer thinks i have 19 new plugins and deleted 17?why does this happen, when i have only downloaded 7 or 8? and how can i get around it or fix it so that the plugins install and work?

Did you happen to move any plugins to different folders or move any folders? That could explain why it is telling you so many effects have changed.

I may have put some plugins in the worng folder, but then i went and put them in theright folder. Could that have been a reason why its saying that? But it also says I have 19 or 17 new plugins and deleted 17 or 18 when i only have one new plugin downloaded.
Two more questions: If I trash the program then reinstal it, do you think these problems will go away? And if i do trash it then reiinstall it, will I be ale to re-register with my serial nubmer?

Thanks

Uninstalling is always a good refresher in a bind. However, remember to move all of your plugins to a non-AlamDV directory BEFORE you perform the uninstallation. Otherwise you'll lose your plugins when the program deletes itself.

And yes, the serial will still work fine.

Do you mean moving my downloaded plugins or the default effects that come with the programs?

(only read if i need to move default effetcs)
So i can just take all the plugins and move them to lets say the desk top by taking all the little subfolders out or the main plugins folder?

If i deleted AlamDV off my computer without uninstalling it, can't i just download it and all the default plugins will be there, since i'm starting from scratch?

SOrry for the so many questions, but how would i uninstall it if i dont totally deleted the program?

Thanks,
You're a God Send!

If you downloaded the version of AlamDV with the built-in effects, then those you can leave. However, do you know for sure exactly which ones came with the program? If you aren't sure, then just to be safe take all of them out and save them. You can delete duplicates later.

What I did was make a folder in My Documents called "AlamDV Temp Plugin Holder". You can do whatever you want. But put them in a safe place. Drag each plugin if you want, or pull entire plugin directory folders out. I don't recommend this, but what the hell. Then uninstall, re-start your computer for good measure, reinstall and put the plugins back in.

In the main AlamDV2 Folder Directory, there is an icon resembling the recycle bin called "AlamDV2_uninstall".
