mac plug in problems

i've just started using a mac for the first time and can't seem to get new plugins to work. i download them, un stuffit them (mac zip) and put them in the plug in folder, yet alamdv2 doesn't recognise that there are any new plugins installed. very confused, please help!

Run the plugin Loader after making any change to the Plugin folder. Then run Alam.

Right now, the Mac users have a slight disadvantage. You gotta run the plug loader first, and that runs great in X but not so great in 9. Alam DV 2 runs shakily in classic mode and alright on OS 9, but things will get much easier when Alam DV 3 comes out scince it's in X! Yay! I want Chromanator!

ok, i have x, and just ran the plugin thing. nothing happened, it froze, and now i get that friggin direcct script error continue shite every time ii try and open a project. any clues? i'm near the end of a thing i've been adding effects to for over a week. i really dont wanna start again!
