Hey, uh, I have Windows XP. I have Matrox codec as well as windows codec. Every time I try to edit a movie in alamdv2, i get that "Script out of range, continue?" I click yes, and there is just a little blue square. I've checked the forums, and tried their advice, but i still cant get it to work. unsure Any suggestions? Thanks.

My best advice would be to wait for AlamDV3. It will have full support for the windows codec. It's not too far off. Buy it with your chirtmas money. wink

Why not try using a different codec rather than a windows media codec, try a staight AVI file or DV AVI.

What I do is use Videomach at http://www.gromada.com/ which is a shareware program that allows you to do many interesting effects and operations (like separate the audio to put back in after using AlamDV2) and which also has a wide range of output codecs. Just load up your video and set the output to Full Uncompressed or another codec that AlamDV2 takes.

Hope that helps!

if i ever need to run a clip through alamdv i use qt with the tiff codec. the files are big and wont playback on their own, but the codec is Lossless, so after reimporting the effected clip into the NLE it hasnt lost any quality from the alamdv operations.

I've had the same problem. I havve Windows 98 (which is tard) Don't make fun of me. I don't have the $$$ to buy a new comp. Anyway, I've had AlamDV only since October but I havn't progressed any since them. I have the same codec problem. I came onto here to ge the codec like it says in that stupid erorr message, but, oh well! Might as well wait until AlamDV3 comes out. But when will that be? It says "later this year" BUT ITS AS LATE AS ITS GOING TO GET! I too are confused and angry because I spent 80 bucks on something that so far hasn't done anything but take up space on my comp, making it slower than it was!
