I'm not completely certain, but i believe there will be either a converter or the files will work in alamdv3, but I think that alamDV3 will have a new plugin style (if i remember right) biggrin

Yes, Malone mentioned that once AlamDV3 is out that there will be some sort of new plugins database and by my understanding the AlamDV2 plugins will be compatible with AlamDV3 and there will also probably be some new plugins for AlamDV3 as well. I'm sure CSB-Digital wouldn't just leave you hanging by making you purchase AlamDV3 and have hardly any plugins avaialbe for it so more than likely the AlamDV2 ones will also work for it.

All of the existing plug-ins will still be usable, although there is a possibility that they will not be used in exactly the same way. We all have to wait for the details.

I wonder what they could mean with a new plug-in style?

I know that in addition to plug-ins, they have talked about having a library of clips available, which you could use in Chromanator. Perhaps some of these could also be used as plug-ins (or vice versa). I also believe that there will be some new options supported in the new plug-in format, but I don't know what they are. Perhaps things like adjustable transparency for individual layers? More controls for moving layers independantly of one another?

(These are purely guesses, as I have not been able to squeeze any specific info out of the csb guys in this regard. Don't count on actually seeing any of those features.)
