The moderators may delete a post if it's against the forum rules, or may move it to a more suitable forum.

I know It is very annoying when a post is deleted, especially when you'd like a response, but there must be a reason - If you really want to know WHY, then PM a mod.

Anyways, posts like this are annoying so this will prob be deleted too.

i think the reason is pretty clear to be honest, this is primarily a special effects forum and film makers help forum, not an online auction...

Also by the sounds of ur post, it sounds like ur trying to sell pirate software - it might just be how u said it, it could be that ur selling a copy of the program u don't want, u should really try http://www.ebay.com if it is legit, if it isn't, don't try and sell it to people, burn it, and buy the proper version!!!

Ok, first of all, at other forums I visit, including the ones to the site I do work for, when a thread is deleted or moved, there is a temporary notice is inserted into the thread with a statement as to whats going on, and what the poster did wrong. That way, nobody is confused and/or possible even makes another thread on the same topic because thier's is nowhere to be found.

Also, my copy was perfectly legit, no burned or downloaded, I just recently purchased it and decided I was goin to be using a different program. I also stated that I was going to place the item up for bid on ebay, but wanted to give the people here at fxhome a first chance before the prices possible went up.

I quite like the idea of that, it sounds very handy, might be a good idea in the future, as there are a lot of posts asking the same thing as u have...

I didn't mean any offence, or to point the finger at you, i didn't read your original post (as it has been deleted razz) it's just from this post you couldn't really tell if it was legit or not, and that may be one of the reasons that the staff deleted it, but again i believe in the past this has been mentioned in other posts, this is not an auction - maybe if u put it on ebay then gave a link to it on this forum, rather than trying to use this forum to sell it?

Sorry if i have offended you...

We generally don't allow software sales on the forum because 9/10 times selling software you have purchased is still illegal. The licence agreement for most software (like ours) is not transferable to another person and therefore selling it on is in breach of the licence agreement because it is only you that has a licence to use that software.

You don't own the software, you purchase a licence to use it.

Hope this clears things up.

Is that for real, Schwar? So...if I sell a PC game back to Gamestation or whoever, & they resell it, is that breaking the law? Surely if the software is not registered then license to use it can be transferrered? I appeciate you cannot do it with AlamDV, because of the nature of the program & how the effects are received by the customer.

Not all software is the same, like Schwar mentioned it depends on the user license agreement at hand...

Some software, mainly the kind that you buy a license for - such as alamdv 2 - you don't own the program, you own a license for it - like owning a license to drive, you can't sell your driving license to someone because you don't want it anymore... (bad example)

However, with games, I believe, on the most part at least, it works on a different basis, you own a COPY of the game, so it is yours to do with what you want (aswell as some other software) but it is always best to check what you have agreed to in any user license agreement when buying something...
