|Bonus for all pre-orders|
As a small gesture of 'thanks' to all those who have put their faith in us and pre-ordered Chromanator (including all those who do so between now and the end of the pre-order period), we have decided to feature your names on the Chromanator in-program credits screen - immortalised as the first people to join us on the road! After all the hardships of the last year, you are the ones to stand with us as we approach 2004 and a new dawn.
December 29th 2003, Chromanator Day. A vastly important date for both CSB-Digital and FXhome.com. In this company's history, no prior date has been so crucial, so undeniably huge. The release of Chromanator will launch us into the next chapter of our digital evolution and we sincerely hope that you will accompany us on the journey.
All of us at CSB would like to pause for a moment and take this opportunity to wish all of you a very happy Christmas! The last few weeks have been tremendously exciting for all of us here and the support and enthusiasm you've all shown for Chromanator and the other new products has been phenomenal.
We wish you all an excellent Christmas break. There's no rest for the wicked, as they say, and we'll be busy adding the finishing touches in preparation for Chromanator Day on the 29th! We hope to see you there. So, until then...
Chromanator pre-orders until Christmas - up to 10% discount!
If you are interested in the imminent release of our new compositing application, Chromanator, then there is no better time to order your copy than right now! Pre-order the program before Christmas and you can receive up to 10% off the full price.

More Chromanator screenshots!
For those of you eagerly awaiting the Chromanator release, to the right you can find some more sneak-peek screenshots to whet your appetite. Here are some juicy details to accompany them:
Close-up - This shows how the Chromanator interface can be folded away to display more of the main canvas, with the movie zoomed in for more precise work. Note how the render display takes non-square pixels into account, giving you an accurate view of your final output. Chromanator can also handle anamorphic footage with ease.
In-out - Here we have the Project View, which displays an overview of your entire project. The Media Browser shows all your available media, including a useful preview panel where you can crop your footage prior to placing it on the timeline. If you examine the timeline, you can see that the clip on track 2 is currently having its in-point adjusted. The pop-up overlay on top of the main canvas shows the current in-point frame and updates as you move the mouse back and forth.
Keying - This screenshot displays the core of Chromanator at work, with the infamous Sollthar clip composited onto a warehouse background. The toolbox displays some of the grading tools, with spill suppression and contrast applied to the Sollthar clip. The TV-safe guide borders are also clear to see.
Multi-selection - The animation interface enables you to work either using the traditional quad, or with more precise controls in the toolbox. The timeline displays all your keyframes, and you can see that multiple keyframes have been selected in this screenshot, which can be copied, cut and pasted as you would expect.
Close up work

I assume you are talking about the promotional video. When they started talking about it, i remember Tarn saying that it would be out after Chromanator and
AlamDV3 were released.
Nice artical Tarn, as always. Holiday Break started just an hour ago, and I have nothing to do these two weeks but eagerly await Chromanator Day. Though Chromanator isnt my main prospect, i still preordered it. I am really looking forward to AlamDV3 and Digigrade. Mostly Digigrade. So hopefully, Digigrade will be available in time for my birthday (april 3rd)

Will the Chrominator demo come online on the 29th too?

They said they would try to get the demo out the same day that the actual program is released. This isnt (as far as I know) for sure yet, but I'm sure they will get it out as soon as they can following the release.

I just thought I should metion I purchased Chromanator a few minutes ago, and I wanted to say thanks! My force bar has grown exponentially because of it, too. I'm only 13 force points from a yellow bar. Cool.

I guess you havnt read, well, anything on this website. AlamDV 3 is expected to come out December 2003/January 2004. January sounds more realistic. The order for CSB's new programs are Chromanator December 29th, PRE ORDER BEFORE ITS TOO LATE!, followed by Alam DV 3 sometime in January, and then DigiGrade, which I believe there is no set date yet. The new programs are to be much more solid and powerful.

You can expect Chromanator on the 29th in the US, we always give US release dates as about 80% of our customers are in the states.
As for AlamDV3 release dates very much depend on how the release of Chromanator goes.
We have tried to plan releases a bit better with the new programs. We know it is possible there will be a few teething troubles to overcome as is often the case with brand new software. For this reason we'll call the first version you guys get a "release candidate" and once we have smoothed off any rough edges you find with the interface or the manual (we hope you won't find many) we'll move to standard version numbers.
The program is coded in a very friendly way compared to AlamDV2 where it could take days to find and kill bugs. The new G6 platform is totally object based which allows most problems to be sorted in a matter of hours - and as all the new applications work off the same platform fixes we make now will kill any problems with AlamDV3 and DigiGrade.
Once the we move past the release candidate stage (we expect this will only be a couple of weeks) we can divert most of our efforts in to AlamDV3. I say "most of our efforts" rather than "all of our efforts" because the development of Chromanator will not stop - the interface supports as many tools/filters as we want to make and I already have an idea for a better spill supression and several other filters. Also interface progress made on AlamDV3 and DigiGrade will be fed back in to Chromanator - we expect Chromanator to evolve pretty quickly which is good news for you guys but hard work for us.

You will not get the extra force and not as much discount if you order on Christmas. These things come when PREordering Chromanator.

Not quite sure when the pre-orders will stop but if you click on "click here to purchase" it'll take you to your basket and you should see what you are ordering about what discounts you are getting.
