Online gaming = something to do in the early hours at uni biggrin

Well, do you have gamespy? If so you can add a player, my name on gamespy is POLLYSCRACKER, if im not on GS(gamespy) then I play in the HOLYLAND serevers somewhat often.

If you dont have GS I suggest getting it, it makes finding certain people and servers much easier.

Tap2: Although its good to keep out spyware and adware, why don't you figure out what you are talking about before you keep going round saying that everything contains it?

Um.. Ok... I know it contains Adware because it says on their site. I don't mind that, I DO mind about spyware because I don't want info about what I do sent back...

Anyway, I've added you and created a new profile...
SoberIceSausage, I'll see if I can add you biggrin

If someone can convince me that xbox live is very worth the hideous amount of money I'd end up spending on it, and that I can play worthwhile games with it, I might take a look at it.

I dont see why you should have to pay anything extra to play online, you already paid for the game. PC games have similar online support for free and projects like xlink can offer free online gaming on the xbox even though they have very little resources. Why pay microsoft for nothing?

Live is totally worth it. only 50 (american) bucks a year for all the cool friend lists, voice chat and other features, well worth it.

My philosophy is that if you're already paying for internet service- DSL, primarily- and you've already paid for the Xbix and all of the crap you need to run it, then you've paid enough. Ps2 online is MUCH better.

XBox is the best online gaming console by such a huge margin its competition isn't worth even considering. £40 a year isn't too bad, considering myself and a few other FXHomers will soon be paying £8 a month to play World of Warcraft.
XBlive has pretty much every feature of an online console I could ever think of needing, Halo 2 for example has excellent online workings with it's virtual couches and stuff, it really eradicates the need for server jumping and finding as it does it all for you.
Problem is, I have a PC for all my online fun... so unless you don't have a worthwhile PC I can't really see XBox Live offering anyone much that doesn't already exist via their pc. You'll also notice that the FPS genre specifically is quite different on PC than it is on console and in my opinion, a gazillion times better.
