Any chances for new version of visor laser plugin? It's great, but I thought about using it as perhaps main weapon of villain in my next movie, so maybe some new angles, better resolution, detail, things like that?
I would appreciate it much, thanks in advance!

I can't find the plugin, you're talking about. Could you post a link?

"The Great One" did the original, but he isnt about as much as he used to be, so you'll be lucky if he does an updated version. If someone else wants to try then I think the original was done in particle illusion if that helps.

Heres a couple of similar looking plugins

Someone with 3DS MAX make the plugin, get some force, and it wiill be appreciated. What has "The Great One" been up to. I love seeing all the old stuff he did. He doesn't do it anymore? Also, hes made some cool plugs.

Hmm, perhaps there's other way to do it, without 3D app (I know it won't be so good), or maybe in Blender wink
After all, plugins are 2D, so maybe paint shop pro or something?

You really need something with a particle engine.

I could take a shot at it in Maya. One of my 3D art geeks has the 3DS Max license at home. Maybe next weekend if I can do it in Maya...

I'm kinda on a plugin spree right now. Two submitted today, hoping for several more tonight. Gifts from the Newb. wink

Thanks!

I'm just now submitting a rendered acid-from-a-pipe particle plugin done in maya (finally figured out the @#$% alpha channel in Maya animation) and got the office license pack from my art geek for 3DS. So I'm going to take a look at the tutorial tonight after I finish this edit that needs to go out today.

Anyway - thanks again for the welcome!

I looked at your anvil, you said you filmed it on a greenscreen. You can tell that, there are green reflections in it.

The anvil one is funny. I downloaded it! Is there a way where I can check how much downloads my plugin has had, or am I missing something?

Yup. I did a fair bit of color correction to lose spill... Probably could have done more. It was for a one-off bit though and hard to justify tooo many hours on something that probably has nothing but comedic value. My rock is better. wink

Following the cyclops "tutorial" was a bust. Really cruddy looking. I'm going to do it in Maya (which I'm infinitely more familiar with) and see how it comes out...

Thanks, Brettsta!

No idea on the # of times. I'm the Newb, remember? wink

I dug into reproducing it tonight... I haven't seen the movie - I just went on that still frame from the alleged tutorial.

Anyone have a few seconds of the movie they could cap/encode/send, so that I can dial it in?

Take a look at this very very low-res render, and see what you think. If it's approaching useful, I'll render out a few hundred frames at a good resolution and get it up for the Monday plugin update...

(for reference - if you want particle-type effects, or much of anything else that doesn't happen in real life - pointing me at something close means I can start reproducing it. If it exists only in your head, sketch it for me. As a modeler/animator, I need to study the subject...)

I put a fragment from trailer on my website: http://www.jimbofilm.com/cyke.mov
I found few images, byt they didn't look very well, and this movie is great to show the effect.
