Here is a suggestion..seeing as ALAMDV has plugins, of which many are supplied by this community..

with the impending release of CHROMANATOR.. will there be a sort of "plug-ins" section for it where we can upload our "Virtual Sets" that members can use.. so for example if someone wants a "Star Destroyer Bridge", someone might be kind enough to supply it.. Or another example.. I am a filmmaker in England... If I want a background plate of the statue of liberty.. Or perhaps some of you american filmmakers want some footage of medieval castles.. (There is lots round here)

What do people think ?

We are planning on starting a stock footage section of the website. It will have various clips and backgrounds to use in Chromanator. It'll take a little while to setup and we have to think about the logistics of hosting high quality clips. Hopefully it will be a very useful resource for all our Chromanator users.

We have no problem with you selling stock footage. Theres a lot of people out there that already do. If it means film makers have lots of choice then it can only be a good thing smile

Thanks Malone,
I told Tarn I wouldn't try to advertise on here and thus the reason why my posts are short, infact I ment to pm you with the first post but click reply insted sad

The footage i've got is from 4 different sources, I have contacted the glider school in bracknell and have got arial footage from them ( not stock footage but footage i've paid for them to do ) this is something anyone can do it's cost me £30 per flight ( altough I didn't go up )
The other footage is along the same lines where they have either shot it themselves and have sold the tapes to me or i've paid for them to film the scenes.
Hope this clears it up alittle.
sorry for any trouble caused

yeah, kinda like that..

Man I cant believe you went to all that trouble of Buying a Delorean, retrofitting a Flux Capacitor, finding a source of 6.21 gigawatts, getting it up to 88 miles per hour and going back to october just to rip my idea off..

some people smile

The idea of downloadable backrounds is great, even simple textures wiht some nice bump mapping or something.

P.S.) I have this amazing white backround i would be more than happy to contribute.biggrin

For a filters section for digigrade a kind of heat wave effect, where the backround is blurred and wavy would be cool.

Yeah, didn´t mean to make you look bad or anything b4!

It just sounded like you would be getting yourself into trouble. Wich is something I don´t want FOR YOUR SAKE of course! We´re looking after each other. wink

Didn´t think about csb either. As you might have seen, we´re selling stock footage too and will create more. It´s a difficult thing with rights though if you haven´t created the footage all by yourself and are not using anything that is copyrighted.

If you film a city for example and sell this footage as stock footage, you can already be sued for that. If theres a logo or anything trademarked in the picture by accident (and you´d wonder, what random things have trademarks these days).

I just remember us shooting a scene for Turicon and we got into legality issues by having a private business building in the background. We were extermely lucky not to get problems. But only cause the guy from the police settled the argument. It was pure luck.

Just be careful. But of course I wish you good luck and look forward to your stock material! biggrin

Since we said we were making FXhome we have said that we will be offering stock footage on the site for use with the new programs. We will be offering a free selection just for gold users (depending on the app you have) but also hope to offer some really cheap high quality stock footage from third parties.

I went on an airplane recently and brought my camera. I stuck it right next to the window and got some excellent footage of taking off over LA (the coast, boats in the ocean) and I got some great landing night footage upon my arrival in Boston.

These clips I got actually fit in great for the new film I was working on.

Just goes to show you that you can get footage from so many places and use it for any type of film.
