O.K., im working on a movie that is primarily in the forest, and i would like to create a village type feel. Yes, I know it would be far more effective to buuild these set pieces, which i am also trying to do, but if i can get the money for this, i could never get enough to freat the scale i would like to have it on. So if ne one would make something (ne thing really) that i could use for background work like some kind of hut or house for a midevil time period, i would appreciate it. (or if anyone has any ideas on a differnt way to do that shot...)

you could build a minature then do bluescreening or whatever then just add your people into the background like in lord of the rings for example

hope this helps with something

i would film in a empty field then use the straw / wooden huts that are free on renderosity.com and place them in the scene, you would need to plan the shot so you don't walk through the huts.
the huts are excellent and very detailed in poser, 3ds and bryce formats, the doors even open.
the scene would mean using a tripod.
add some alamdv smoke from the roof ( as if a fire burns inside )

if you havent got poser, bryce or 3ds then ask nice on here and i'm sure someone would make some plugins, but really it's better that you give the person the background plate ( the field with actors in ) so the can angle the huts right for you.

Well i went to renderosity and checked out some of the cottages that i tihnk you are talking about, and they look really good, the only problem is i don't have any of those programs. So if someone would please a few aangles of one of them, or a few of them, i can work with whatever you give me, because at this point all im really considered with is how to get them there with out having to build them.

How about searching for images on google? You could find a photo of the kind of house you want, edit the image then composite it into your footage with a bluescreen program.
