"Holes" in images rendered with blur?

While exporting video using the lightsword effects, I noticed that some frames have "holes" in the effect, areas that are not colored in usually towards the center of the area of the effect. I noticed it the most where I was using Lightsword and other effects together.
I'n not using masks in this case, and if I don't use blur there doesn't seem to be any holes.
Any thoughts? Could it be a Photoshop filter that is used for blur that is messing things up?

make sure you're set to 32-bit

I don't think that's the problem because I'm running 32 bit and have had this problem. My advice to you: Don't blur the lightswords!

That's always an option.. and is actually the answer I came up with too. However, the manual states this can be a nice addition to the lightswords effect... I'd hate to not be able to use the best version of an effect, especially if it's touted by the manual as being the best way to do it.

Blur the swords! PLEASE. Without it it would look crummy and jaggedy.

But, I can certainly try different settings and see if it gets better.
