Hey, just bought AlamDV2, installed and registered it fully. Tried loading a video clip into it from my digi-cam and said I needed a new codec. So I downloaded and installed the "Matrox DV codec". Still doesnt want to load my video clips for some reason, and the folder it said the codec was being installed to doesnt exist on my system???
Is Alam very picky about the video files you can laod into it? They come off my camera as .avi files (just checked!) but its still not loading them!
HELP! lol, cheers guys!

yeah this is an old problem, and it's well documented in the Ulimate FAQ thread. the quick answer is to install the Mainconcet DV codec here

If I remember right, here is another topic about dv codecs. Maybe you can try another dv codec. It`s here: http://fxhome.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=11124&highlight=dv+codec

There is some useful codecs. smile

The Matrox DV codec works very well and should allow you to open your files. It sounds like it didn't install properly though.

I've downloaded both the Matrox Codec and MainConcept Demo Codec but neither work. I've downloaded other programs along with everything and nothing works.

And the output file i use is avi

Hm.. i just bought AlamDv, and downloaded the codecs aswell (both matrox and concept), and still i get the small-blue-box error. to be honest i don't understand the "decompress"-part of this thread, could that solve my problem? and how do i do it?

Oh.. almost forgot to mention:
my OS = winxp (running at 32colours)
using Avi-Files
320×240pix
video data rate: 237kbps
audio data rate: 176kbps
19fps

(when is searched google for a microsoft dv codec, i found a program which should be able to convert avi files, but it didn't work on the avi's i have, and i don't think this has something to do with it, but i never had problems with AlamDv1)
