Okay, so I decided I would try out this program, because my friend has it and likes it very much. I edited my movie in Premiere 6.0, and exported it UNCOMPRESSED. So then I downloaded the trial version of AlamDV2 and I try to import it and it says that the wrong codec is used! (see below)

It says:
"The movie you are trying to import uses a codec that does not support Video for Windows (probably the Microsoft DV codec)." Then it says visit here for info on where to find a better codec, blah, blah.

Any thoughts?

When you export from premeire you have to chose a different FORMAT like avi. Try avi uncompressed. And dont try to do an entire film in alam. Do it one clip at a time, then import them into premeire and export the entire finished movie.

The whole movie is less than 5 mins long (so far).

Ok, I go in Premiere to export and at the bottom of the screen it gives details on it (see below).

It has the save to info, and then below the filename box, it has:
"Make: Work Area as Microsoft DV AVI; Video: 720x480 at 29.97fps; Compression: 'Microsoft DV (NTSC)' @ 100%; Audio: 32000 Hz - 16 bit - Stereo; Compressor: Uncompressed".

That's what I don't get is that "uncompressed" part...

Well, I was just screwing around in "Settings" and found how to export it truely uncompressed, so I'll try that and get back to you.

Kinda off topic: Try to keep stuff you import into alam under 10 seconds. If you just want to add an effect on a certian part of your movie, use the razor tool to cut it out, then select it, then right click it and export clip. then import the clip into alam and add effects, and export from alam, then import it back into premeire and replace the old clip with the new clip that has effects added.

You have chosen the audio codec to be uncompressed. the Video codec is still "Microsoft DV (NTSC)" codec, you must make this "Uncompressed".

AlamDV2 does not work with the Microsoft DV codec (although it works fine with other DV codecs).

You haven't exported your footage uncompressed. Double-check the settings - once it is uncompressed properly AlamDV2 will load it fine.

Needless to say, AlamDV3 won't have this problem.
