There have been many problems with Zed the last couple of days. There are several other topics about this on the forum already. Hopefully the issues will be resolved soon once Zed have finished doing whatever it is they're doing.

ssjaaron: Go to Forum Options, and in your sig options, hit submit. That way your sig will show up.

It looks like zed might have started blocking remote linking. This is why some people can download the movies ok while other people get the "403 Forbidden" message. If zed continue reject movie linking from other sites then you will not be able to host your fxhome movies there.

Most free sites start adding these restrictions once they have built up their customer base, so I dont really expect them to go back to how they were. Unfortunatly this means a lot of fxhome movies are going to have to find alternative hosting

When is someone going to fork out some money to help the lil guys!

It makes me mad!

*gets angry and shakes his fist whilst remaining a motionless near-cripple in bed.

I wonder how many movies from fxhome are going to go down because of this.

Someone should get some huge amount of bandwidth and diskspace, and offer to host FXHome movies who can't afford space themeselves. ZED's move is really going to cause a LOT of the fxhome films to go down, which is sorta sad

andrew i like that thought wink
but i was thinking that fxhome should make a Uploader, and then they check the content of the movie making sure it is safe to be uploaded onto the website. smile
i Personally would like that idea neutral
peace out

Im not sure what you mean by an "Uploader"? As in a FTP client? That wouldn't really change anything with regard to reviewing the movies for submission.

Or do you mean we should host the movies? I'd love to be able to have all the movies on the fxhome server. We have the disk space but theres no way we could cover the bandwidth costs. Plus I imagine it would slow the whole site down.

Unfortunatly, unless a generous and wealthy guy comes along like andrew says, then people are going to have to pay for decent hosting. The free sites are great for a while, but they always start clamping down in the end.

Does anyone know of any free sites I could use?
If not, how about some good cheaper sites?

malone, here is another idea. you guys could make another FxUploader site (so that you guys could host peoples movies,by letting them upload their movie content) and then have a link between FXhome site and FXMovieloader site,eh smile
its just an idea. and you should make people pay if they have their movie over a sertian Size, like you could let people with 14MB upload but people with 15 or over have to Pay to upload thier content, by doing this people may upload thier movies and are able to submit movies faster, being that the server is all conected. Correct me if i am wrong. wink
well that is my idea and i hope you look into it smile i am sure people would love this idea. biggrin
peace out

The small movies sometimes use up as much bandwidth as the larger ones simply because they are small and more people download them smile So I think we'd probably have to charge for those as well. Setting up our own hosting service on a new machine is something we may look into in the future.

I agree. That would be great. I know you guys would charge a fair price, and it would be simple.

That would be awesome. If you charge $ you can do this: Have it be discounted more per each CSB program you have, and if you have em all, its free. No programs is full price, whatever that might be.
