Hey, I just downloaded the demo to Chromanator, and I was just wondering...how do I clone one person to make like five of them? Is there a tutorial for this? If so, I would like to see it =D

- Thanks

tape yourself in 5 differnts spots, with the camera staying in exactly the same spot, layer them in Chromanator, draw garbage mattes! voila!

or

taper yourself doing 5 different things in front of a greenscreen, key em all in, and voila agina. good luck and make sure to read the quickstart.

If you don't know what those are, I suggest reading the manual. I was like you when i started, but i read the manual, and its working for me now. I am not an expert, but hey! It works.

If you are using a greenscreen or a bluescreen, you don't need to film your actor in different places. You could even use one shot and duplicate it to create a bunch of clones doing the exact same thing (like a marching army.) If you are not using a screen, then lock off your camera, make sure it doesn't move at all, and then film your actor in each of the places you want a clone to be. then you can use garbage mattes to layer them up, as you will learn in the manual.

If you still have difficulties, though, just post 'em, and we will help you out.

Be sure to try out the Quickstart, as it will guide you through most of the basics. After that, you can check the manual to brush up on extra techniques, or discuss ideas on here.

Ok, I have applied two scenes of my brother with the cam in one spot. Now, I placed the video in the timeline on top of each other. But when I click on Object then Key then Garbage Matte there is nothing there, the field is blank under Garbage Matte. Am I doing somethn wrong? Cause I did sort through the manual and I still havnt solved my problem, we film this coming Wednesday for an American Civil War reenactment film and I gotta figure out how to make more then 15 guys marching. Thanks.

click on the drop down menu under garbage matte, and click on new matte. Then click as many points as you need on your image to create the matte, dragging the last one to join with the first one.

I don't have Instant Messenger, but if you just pop over into the chat room on this site, I'm sure somebody there can walk you through it.

Also, have you looked at the video tutorials that Tarn did? Here's a link to the thread where you can watch the video.
