wow! That was pretty sweet. The explosion at the end was well tracked to the ground, didn't look like some of the other films you see one here. Only thing i would suggest is to use some soft masking on the ship that was getting fired at when the fire is coming out, it looked too much like a straight line...nice work, just use a background wink

Yep that was really well done. All the effects were really well placed & smooth.

My only criticism is that the 3d isn't realistic. What did you do it with? Blender?

Still good work, but my rating reflects that this is only a test.

i used max 6, i think the non realism is kind of down to the setting, i am going to do a few more tests over the weekend with actually putting theese into a real life scene, if they dont look good there then ill see what i can do.

Thanks for the comments! me

Well done!, that looks great. All you need to do to add realism is maby match the lighing of your real-life scene like the Global Illumination, light scattering etc

Did you build the models?

I would have used the morph command on the ship thats being shot at. It stayed the same the whole time. If you used the morph modifier it would have looked more like it was being destroyed. Also the sky shouldn't have been just one color. Besides that nice job. I am starting to use 3ds Max and it can be hard to make things look good and realistic.

rmw>yes, i made the models
Colincsl>Ok, ill have a lookm at that morph modifier, and the sky was one colour because as i said it was a test, i was really testing out the objects and animation rather than the scene.

wow that was really really good! i gave it a three because I usually think a 2 is the highest a test should get, but this wasprobably the best tests (alone with one or two others) I have seen on the site. can't wait to see it in a movie!

This is a short video i took just outside my house on friday, then i just put the ship in and added some particles and a blur just to make it look more realistic in the scene. smile

When the craft lands on the road maybe the shadow should shrink as it touches the surface? Otherwise outstanding!!!

The First Test
hmm, was okay.
The Shakey Hand Held Cam effect was nice.
But you need to work on your texturing and lighting.
The whole test looked like a VideoGame cinematic.
Another thing is that when that laser bot thingy on the ground, fired the lasers that area should have lit up for a split second. So you should add an omni light of the colour of the laser near the muzzle, to make it look realistic. The Explosions didnt at all affect the lighting, which is wrong, add omni's with animated intensity for such effects too.

The Second Test
Seeing the time of the day the shadows shouldnt be very visible, they should be really diffused and soft, the animation was very computery, add some secondary motion to it.

Anyways for a newbie tis a nice test.
