Now available are the demo versions of Chromanator for Mac OS X and Windows, so you can try out the capabilities of our feature-packed compositing package before you buy!

Download the Chromanator demo!

The demo is fully functioning, except that you cannot save projects and you cannot render finished movies. The temp renders also imprint a watermark onto the screen. However, all the tools and features are available, which should enable you to see if Chromanator fits your requirements.

1.0.3 Chromanator update
We have also released an update for Chromanator users that should fix a problem with DirectX identification on Windows machines. This is not a vital upgrade and you only need it if you have been experiencing DirectX-related problems.

Update log system
You may have noticed that in the new Chromanator Preferences dialog (which can be accessed from the edit menu) there is an Upgrade section, from which you can press a button to check for updates.

This system has now gone active, which means you can use the update button to make sure you are always up-to-date with the very latest version of Chromanator. You will be taken to a special page at FXhome with information on the latest updates and whether you need to upgrade.

Chromanator tutorials
We are currently working on the first set of Chromanator tutorials, which we will be releasing next week. An ongoing series, they will introduce you to different parts of Chromanator and give you ideas and tips for getting the most out of the program.

If there are any specific areas you would like tutorials about, just let us know and we'll see what we can do.

You guys are making good progress. GOod work. Because it a popular question, maybe there should be a cloning in chromy tut. Im not sure if thats what your getting at though with them. Im curious to see them compared to the adv2 ones.

The update system looks good but doesnt tell me the right thing. I download 1.3 and im sure its the one im using, because I uninstalled chromy 1.2 before installing it (do you have to do that?) and it tells me Im 2 versions behind. My prefer5ences say 1.3.

If you do that be sure to use a good explanation of it....... like the piece of paper one maybe smile Not trying to be harsh, but the ADV2 tutes aren't all that helpful, they're like a sprint explanation. You should add a bit more detail/explanation in the new ones, in my opinion at least.

Along with our more "professional" software, Tarn is taking the new tutes up a level.

We really want you to get the most out of the new appls so what we have planned goes far beyond anything we've done before - we hope to set a new standard in tutorials and application information. I'm sure Tarn will keep things entertaining but with all the information you could need. We hope to have guest tutorials from the big names on FXhome as well - its going to be an exciting year.

I'm looking forward to trying out some of the tutorials myself to see if I can finally work out what Chromanator is meant to do... wink
