I really want to make a film over the summer and I want to go into pre-production pretty soon and I've got a script but I can't seem to get any of my friends interested in helping me out. They all say "Ya I'd love to make a movie" but as soon as I ask them to take a look at the script with me they'll kinda jump topics. I even asked a few people I don't know and nobody seems interested in helping me out. Does anyone have any suggestions for what I could do to get my frineds interested? I'm 15 years old (obviously my friends are too) And also the script I'm using I found on the internet. Should I ask the author if he minds if I use it first, even though I don't plan on making any profit?

Thanks smile

Buy a bag of candy and say you'll give them a piece for each scene...

or line...

or filming session.

yeah...... id DEFINATELY ask permission first! When in doubt, don't steal one, write it yourself. That way its yours and you get more satisfaction out of the finished product! wink

Everytime they go off topic, whip em. That way, they learn to stay on topic of the script and will be afraid to go off it. Then, at night play a tape in their head that repeatadly states I want to make the movie. That way a subliminal message is sent. Make sure they dont have any fun while you are trying to tell them about the movie and when they are making it. If this happens, they WILL get off topic and will not be able to continue with reading off someone on the internets script. Thats how. Try it it really works.

w0w...okay um.....err..are you not located in the US pooky? lol it's kay any who back on topic.

Well the best way to get a cast and crew is to get people interested in your film. You're 14yr/old it shouldn't be too hard, you people are easily amused (lol i have been 18 for about a month now so I am gonna make those I am older than you jokes as much as i can smile). Go out with your camera and do an AirBullet and make a bunch of short movies and then make a VHS...OH and dont forget to put your name all over teh video. Then get teh tape to the loudmouth or popular kid (don't outrightly give it to him but somehow get him to see it without making it look like ya want them to see it) and make sure lots of ppl hear about so when they ask you can show them. wait a week make another even COOLER short movie. Say "Hey guys check this out" and mention how you wanna make a movie. After about 3days belike ya I wanna make a 10 minute movie ( or whatever it is) but I am gonna need a bunch of ppl to help me film and act in it. I guarantee you'll get at least 3 Honest to god people who want to work with you and at least 2 - 5 more who want to say they were apart of it smile.

Kud0s

oh ya and ,... don't worry about the wife aspect of that.. you still gots a WAYS TOOO GOOO! smile

Wow... Hearing people talk about being born in 1991 is REALLY weird to me for some reason. Makes me feel old. Even though I'm not.

It makes me feel old.

Then again, I am.

With the whole girl thing, I don't think you guys understand what ryan meant when he said shopping with girls (at least I think he meant this.) Its funny to see people say the cootie thing, acting like they're all manly and mature. What he meant was that shopping with girls is a terrible experience. Trying on this, waiting in the store carrying her bags there...it's not fun at all.

back to the topic: does your school have a drama/theater group that puts on plays? Become friends with those people, usually, (or at least in my case) they were very willing and even enthusiastic about it.

Thanks for all the tips guys I think I'll try a combination of showing off some cool stuff and then telling them somthing like "so, I'm planning on making this film but since you don't want to be in it I'll have to make some ultra-cool film with me fighting off a bunch of clones, besides I don't even need your help!" and hopefully the majority of them give in. wink
