I tried to make a battle ship plugin, and no matter what I do, after it installs, I try to use it, and it says index out of range. The plugin is just a pic of a battleship, one frame. Its a gif, i have 32 bit.

Does the image have an "alpha channel"?

The Battle Ship is a GIF cutout, so the BG is transparent. If I import it alone into ALAMDV the BG is green. But I need the shipas a plugin. Im not sure what an alpha thingie is.

Try using black transparent. To change the color to black you could just use paint. Then save as a .tif file.

u need photoshop or psp to create alpha channels, which makes the transparency in the image.

Thank you, I will try it. I use Microsoft picture it, it works great, and is user friendly for newbs.

It finally imported, but I have a black box around it. I cut it oit in Microsoft picture it, then opened it into paint to change the green transparency to black, then saved as a tiff and made the plugin (selecting black transparent). Now its in but has a black box around it.

You gave me a link to a link to an article about photoshop. I'm not using photoshop.
