|This is our first movie submission on FXHome. We launched Adams Bros. Films in late 2002 and we haven't stopped making movies since. We already released our first volume of films, and, nearing our purchase of AlamDV, we decided to release our second volume. This is a short TV Spot for ooour collection. Please don't criticize- this is NOT our best work. (P.S.-Can you tell where AlamDV was used?)|Posted: Mon, 17th May 2004, 9:18am

please dont criticize
Can I see some of your films now please... not just a random collection of snippets, that way I can get an idea of your shooting and editing style..[/quote]

So you posted a movie and don't want us to criticize your work? Hmm...The preview was ok. There were a couple of things I noticed.
* When the yellow screen with the white letters pops up, you can't read it very well. Bad color mix.
* With the AlamDV effects, you had an error pop up while AlamDV was rendering. Or you're using the trail version.
What program are you using to edit with?

Ouch. What was that all about? There really isn't anything to talk about other than don't call this a TV spot. A TV spot is definitely not what this is. Why not call it a montage of Adam Film (whatever you were called) projects or something.
Get some of your flms up and lets see what the people 'we've grown to love' have been up to

Hey, leave me alone!
It was definately our worst work, i just made it when i got bored at 3:00 am, and my brother wanted something to put for us on alamdv. Thanks for the comments. (I thought i used orange on white, but it came out yellow. Sorry for those of you who had to rub the eyes afterwards.) Rest assured, we will add more soon. Our newest flick will be up in June, and I have a preview for it pending. Can you say Matrix spoof?
-I use Pinnacle DV 7 (with an internet upgrade)
-I use a Dell Inspiron Notebook (I know, I should get a desktop)
-White on yellow does hurt the eyes (sorry)
-This sucks, but we needed something to get us going
-My little brother minimized AlamDV while rendering (I quickly re-opened)
-Give me some specific clips for what to post off of that snippit
-I didn't add 'TV spot' (my friend did)
Anyways, thanks for the comments, you'll see more soon enough.

Thanks, its nice to see someone with a critic's eye AND a positive comment. I'm putting on another video today. (if my internet continues to work. Stupid untrustworthy wireless DSL.)
Appreciate it- Andrew

Yeah honestly Atom, don't judge me before you know me.
I was saying Hi to an old member and friend that I haven't seen in like a year in this forum. I hope that dosen't bother you, If it do I would leave this site, couse it's alot about friendship!
These thing bothers me alot, when some new member shows up posting a movie and think they own the place. No one should act like you did!
Why? I was looking through the newest posts in the forum, and saw that V6proz (who is a well known member here) has posted, I didn't want to ignore him. Next time be nicer to people, you wont get so much comments if people dosen't like you. Keep it in your mind.

If this is an example of what your films are like, I don't think I'll be watching any of them.

I realize I don't own the place, but when the first post I read is 'long time no see' swedish bastard', I'm inclined to be a bit bewildered. I thought it was directed at me. Sorry. Next flick will be up soon, and as I thought back, most of those clips in the 'montage' were from community events that me and my brother were hired for. It was originally meant as an ad for little kids birthday videos. (they hire us) So I didn't want to make it 'big'.
Plus, when I realized it had to be off a site, this was the first and easiest to load, but watch your mouth. My next movie might just make it to the top ten.
P.S. I totally understand friendship, I just didn't like the immediate profanity. Sorry. (please keep watching Aculag, those are our very first films. Don't judge a book by its cover.)

I know my brother Andrew's pretty stupid and accusatory, but don't listen to him. I'm Ben, the director and cameraman of all our films (Andrew's lead editor) and i personally think my bro just likes to talk trash and that's not right. So i would also like to apologize on his behalf. He doesn't realize what a great oppurtunity it is to be a member of this community. I'm looking forward to your feedback on our works. This TV Spot is NOT a montage of our works like initial productions' "Initial TV" (or whatever it's called) this is a local commercial for our second DVD. You may think I'm just saying this to make an excuse for the film being sucky but in this instance this is true- to fully understand the implied humor in the commercial you have to have purchased the first DVD. Just to fill you in on things to come-
We've created several films, and I'll add some AlamDV effects to some of them to get them posted so that you came view them and give comments
-I (Ben) have been working on the script for our intrigue scifi thriller- ATOM.
-A Matrix fanfilm (sorry) is in the mix: half filmed, half edited.
-Expect more trailers and tests
*Postscript: I know that we're all filmmakers here, but doesn't everyone think that sometimes people can 'overanalyze' something. I mean, some comments are helpful (e.g. "White on yellow hurts my eyes") but some can be too overly critical and personal. I thought the TV Spot was generally pretty good. Yeah, the white on yellow was bad- Andrew messed that up on accident during rendering- but the short film overall (in my opinion) conveyed a sense of excitement and silliness- what our Essential Collection DVDs are supposed to represent. (Yes, I said, "excitement and silliness- what our Essential Collection DVDs are supposed to represent." Not all our movies represent this, just our Essential Collections.)
Whew! That post was tooooooo long. See ya guys. Sorry Andreas and Aculag- you guys are awesome. Especially since - from what I read - Aculag inspired the Bamf plugins.

He means that saying don't judge a book by it's cover is ridiculous because this is not a book, it's a video, and you can plainly see that nothing good will come from any of the videos featured here.
Atom, you seem like a VERY strange person, and I don't understand why two brothers feel the need to use the same screename and argue with eachother using it. Do that on your own, no one cares.

We are not really that strange, but we're twins, and we think a lot the same and also very differently. And, at the moment, we only have one screen name, so you can imagine how hard it is to voice your opinion when you have someone on the same screen name saying something totally different. But really, we just COME OFF kind of strange. (but that doesn't make it any less offensive) Anyway, I'm sorry you think that, and I hope you change your mind.

Your brother can easily sign up to FXhome. Simply log out by clicking where it says 'Click to logout', then sign up for a new account. Then all you need to do is make sure to log into the correct account depending on who is posting.
And everyone else can chill out, these guys are new, cut 'em some slack. I thought their montage was fine, look forward to seeing a proper film from them.

Hey man, I can pretend
I don't own this place for only so long
Also just to put everything in perspective, I had just turned 14 here and was in middle school- I'm about to turn 20 and halfway through college now. You know, for whatever that's worth.
