Hi there,

I'm making a Catwoman film and have put together some concept shots from the test shoot. There a little rough but capture the look and feel i'm going for.

Catwoman

Roof Top

Batman

Catwoman & Batman face off

I'd love to get some feedback from you guys - what do you think?

I would just go for the Michelle Pfeiffer Catwomen coustume, it looks neat, homemade and not so macho.

Cool thanks for voting..

Tho im going back to catwomans original origins - ie she was a dominatrix whos hooker room mate got beat up so bad by her pimp that she decided to take action - so i'm going for a more fetishy kinda look.

She'll have a pvc cat hood mask in the finished thing (like michelle pfieffers but without the white stitching)

Just make sure it doesn't look anything like the upcoming Halle Berry film.

I guess PVC is the best option, as leather would probably be too expensive.

All though only test stills, they have a nice grading to them. Were they photographs or video stills?

Hi Guys, thanks for posting.

Grading-
There stills from video footage. I'm a big fan of Underworld and love the look. I'm hoping to cut together a teaser sometime soon. But I only have batman and catwoman posing, there not really doing anything apart from the odd clenching of the fist. Could work well with some rousing music - showing glimpses of them facing off about to fight. It could be my first film submission smile

Costume-
I never really considered leather. The batman returns outfit is latex and my costume is PVC. I need a better cat hood that encloses the neck which is being made. But im also toying with the idea of a full on latex costume. Not sure how easy that would be for the actress to fight, ect in. Plus more expense but hey if it looks good. PVC still looks good and is relatively easy to wear - but rubber would be more fetishy i guess. Still in two minds as you can see. Thats why theres a poll.

I think it looks quite cool like that. Like it more then the look of the halle berry film. Whats wrong with the material as it is?

Hi there, Thanks i thnk it looks pretty cool too. I just wondered what others would think. At the time i was undecided between pvc and latex but i think i'm sticking with the pvc now. Hopefully get some more test stuff and a trailer done in a few weeks.

Hye, that looks really good, the grading is great.

I would suggest not being able to see her hair, or in the back or something, thats the costume's biggest flaw.

Othere than that, I cant wait to see a teaser clip or something.

Hey, I agree with you about the hair. I'm having a a cat mask/hood custom made that encloses the neck. So for the next shoot she'll be in high gloss pvc from head to toe with only her eyes and lips showing.

And the camera used to shoot it was a Canon XL1S

Not to be perverted or anything, but i think if the catwoman suit is not skin tight, then it really takes away from her being catwoman. In Batman returns, catwoman looked great, not because men could not take their eyes off her, but a cat isnt supposed to look like it has a suit on. But other than that I like what i see in the pics. Also, i assume you have to convince the actress to fit her body in a suit that nearly cuts off her blood supply.

It looks great so far!

Hey, I do know whatcha mean.

In Batman returns She had a corset/waspie on across her mid drift to keep the suit tight and also to emphasise her boobs.

I've just ordered the rest of the suit and it includes a pvc waspie (same thing) which will tuck in the suit across the middle and make it tighter smile

I have no idea what you should make the costume out of. But I really like those screenshots. The color grading is fantastic.

Can't wait to see some footage. smile

Hey thanks Lloyd,

If it feels half as cinematic as your trailer i'll be happy smile

I'm not intending to make a trailer as such - more a preview if that makes sense? I want to involve concept art and and behind the scenes stuff as well as some action shots. Kind of like the first trailers for return of the king or the episode 3 stuff you can download now. Something to tell you more about the project and give you a better idea of it.

Can't wait for the other costume stuff to come so I can get started smile

That sounds cool, CMBmovies. Providing a look at the production is a neat idea for fanfilms and such.

By the way, how long are you aiming for the film to be?

That third pic is a really obvious ass-shot. Well done biggrin

Good grading, but 5 minutes? you ordered all this costume and stuff for that short of a film? at least try to pull 15 min. Also, if your going for that original storyline, i expect to see many a whip and chain. (*still, disturbing)

there may be a bullwhip involved smile

and as for ass shot - i dont know what you mean.. thats a cowboy style face off smile

allthough as a general rule i feel there should be more ass shots in films.

I get your point about the story and we'll have to see. But id rather to something simple really, really well and have the audience wanting more then do something 15mins long and it drag a little

I suppose the movie will be good if you follow these instructions:

1. Make sure ass-shot ratio is equal or greater than the amount of minutes in the actual movie.

see? simple.

The entire production of your movie seems very impressive. With the amount of work you seem to be putting into it (the costumes, storyboarding, props, color graded test shots, actor training) I figured this would be like a full length movie. It looks like you guys are putting a ton of work into it. I can't wait to see the finished product, I'm sure it will be great!

One bit of Catwoman which was okay was the robbery. It was a ba dmovie, but she'd have looked a lot better in that leather and domino mask than that abomination she wore for the rest of the movie ...
