AVATAR question

ok, wanna design my avatar...im using Fireworks to do this and i cant seem to be able to design anything on the tiny 40x40 pixel area im allowed to use. even when i set it to 10000 pixels/inch(highest it can go) the text and everything is really bad looking.

i cant seem to make an image in Fireworks cause at 40x40 pixels everything look bad. and is the avatar the image next to the person's name or the banner at the end of their posting?

i must be missing something here.

you design your avatar at whatever resolution and canvas size you want...then you export the finished product at 40x40.

The avatar is the pixture next to the name. Try using a paint package like Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop to make your image.

Nevermind, as you can see I've found out how to make one.

At least you have 40x40! Look at mine! See mine looks all right even when it's 20x20. When I make it it's bad quality so i do my best and it turns out okay, i guess. Because from a distance it looks all right me
