Now I have seen everything, that game was so extremly wierd, what the heck happend the last 2 minutes, where did the frence come from?

To bad Beckham missed that, that would have put an end on the game for sure!

All games so far have been very entertaining!

Italy is prolly gonna win group C by beating Sweden who will come second in group C,
Then Italy is probably will be up against Holland or Germany,
I think Germeny who could suprise but not gonna beat Italy.
From Group B, France is gonna win with England as second, England will then probably be up against Spain, and they'll win that match.
Then it's Italy vs. England, I think Italy will win and be in the finals.
But who will they be up aginst? who ever it will be, Italy will win Euro04

Who's the goat responsible for the subtle reduction of the Os in my post above?? biggrin

It was indeed unbelievable and VERY weird.
While I'd like to think England will do well, after that - I very much doubt it.

If England can continue to play with the assurance they did today, they will go on a lot further in the competition. Two errors, two goals lost to one of the best players around, Beckham has a penalty saved by one of the mosy erratic keepers around, Football is a very strange game sometimes.

no Gent, I dont think youve got the hang of it.... Its not a best of series like the Stanley cup..... (Of which I am Gutted about being a Flames Fan!) it is only a one chance competition...

USA in 2 indeed... Elvis will be back to sing the theme song, the beatles will reform... and oh look, a flying pig smile

now let me work out this football lark...

They train for about 3 hours, 3 times a week.... then play maybe one game of 90 minutes in the same week... that is just over 10 hours of work a week... and some of them earn £40,000.00 per year for that...

And they still get tired after 90 minutes...

Give me Ice Hockey anyday...

Eh?

Many players earn way more than £40,000 a year. I could name about 30 players who earn more than £5million a year

Someone added England but there are still 2 France's, plus, if you vote for one of the bottom 3 the vote goes up by exactly the same percentage...weird

Yeah, and it sure as hell made up for that dissapointment against France.

I think the Swiss goalkeeper handled that game well.
He allways seemed to be similing, and played well - although I doubt very many goalies would have saved our goals.

Yes, wonderful game. Was a bit worried at the start, the swiss looked like a good team and almost scored on a couple of occasions. Thankfully for us we got a goal before half time, then the goals just kept coming. Good luck against Croatia on Monday, I'll be watching!!

There was a moment when I thought the Swiss were going to blow up a bridge as a diversion.

yeah, congrats to the victory, I'm glad England won this, otherwize "Svennis" would have been blamed for it.
Today it's gonna be one hell of a game against Italy for Sweden, if I were you I would tune in this!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH (again).

That match was so unfair.

- Wayne Rooney, our 18 year old wonder player got trodden on the foot by a Portugal player, breaking a bone in his foot.

- We had a goal disallowed that SHOULD have been given. Terry was not impeding the keeper. Both were going for the same ball so what do you expect if they clatter into each other

- There was a weird patch on the penalty spot that undoubtedly caused David Beckham to miss his penalty. It had been noticed days before, it was assured that it would be dealt with but no...it probably caused the other misses too, including the Portugal one

- grrr. I'm half Spanish & Portugal knocked Spain out too. I hate them!

well, now we should root for them, because wouldn't it be bad if england lost to a losing team, I would rather have 'em lose to the Euro Cup champions.

I must admit that the whole goal thing it a bit odd and although we played badly we should have won. But to be honest I also think its great that Portugal are still in. The Portuguese are lovely people and I hope they make it all the way now - it'll be great for their country and it is only a game after all.

Agreed. People shouldn't let it dominate their lives.

I was watching the game in a bar with some mates. When Lampard scored the equaliser we all jumped about. Then this random stranger big guy who looked a bit like Johnny Vegas suddenly flung his arms round me. I hugged him back tentatively. Thank god he was with his girlfriend. Still, I'm confused why he hugged me instead of her. Later, when England went out, I saw him weeping in the corner, his girlfriend consoling him.
