This was a movie me and my friend did for fun. It was filmed in Big Cottonwood Canyon Utah. We edited it and did the Special effects in one night. I was up till 2:00 in the morning finishing it. I hope you like it although it is kinda short. This is one of many films that will be coming from Scorpian Entertainment and Siosphere Studios.

Im going to judge this purely by fx cos there wasn't really any characterisation or story. Just people shooting at each other.

Some of the fx you've used dont really look so good. The bazooka was a nice touch (though your props could be a little more convincing with some time taken to work on them). The dirt hits are too big and also shouldnt be used on the tree.

Sorry but i think it was only the bazooka fire that I was impressed with. But at the end of the day its all down to practice - keep trying to get it right and eventually you will.

Well, I just thought that you would like to hear it said about yours, even when the movie is not that bad.

It didn't suck! I do tons of movies with no stories (or stupid stories) to hone my skills and to have fun. But do try a story in the future.

One thing, try cutting from one clip to another faster. It will give it (battle movies) more of a pace. Making it quick will make look more pro.

AWSOME BAZZOKA EXPLOSIAN!

Yeah! You don't have to post every test you make! Post your movies that have a story. (Oh...I have posted alot of tests eek )

Over to the movie:
This didn't suck and the blood effects were well added. But there was one bad thing:
When the bad guy in red came and the good guy had empty gun. The bad guy should tried to shoot him before. He just standed there and watched him while he threw away the gun and took up the other. Just my opinion though.

Make movies in the future! wink

quit complaining, people make what they like.
Tests are so people can see where they are lacking skill. And get help on how to get better.
Also, this isnt a test, its a shoot-em-up.
And a very nice one at that. smile

...sure people can post what they like, nobody's disputing that. Out of the 500 or so movies posted on this site, probably 490 of them are simply guys wanting to head out to the closest empty field with their friends & pellet guns and shoot at each other... again, nothing wrong with that other than to say just about everyone does it, nothing new...

You should be encouraging young aspiring filmmakers to come up with "a" story to go with their SFX instead of cheerleading for monotony.

That was alright. Of course we've seen it all before, and the only thing that impressed me was the bazooka (but not the actual explosion, that was floating in mid air and you didn't mask out the guy). Also as tra mentioned, it's kind of silly for the guy to just stand there with a loaded gun, not shooting, while the other guy takes a second one out and kills him.

Try and have more shots, instead of long, unmovign ones. That last one is a good example, instead of one big shot, you could have had maybe 10 shots from different angles and it would have looked TONS better. (ex. one from the front of the guy as he comes up and stops, and then same thign for the terrorists, then maybe a close up of the guy realising he has no ammo, etc.).

Nice little clip.
Its great fun just picking up a camera and having a mess about, which is how I am going to look at this film.

Like someone else said, I think that you could have used alot more angles to improve on the cinematography. Most of the effects I felt were sheer copy and paste jobs, but I was impressed with the squib effects on the guys chest that you shot before the last guy.

What I did find extremely funny though, like in most mess about films is that everybody is dressed like they are shopping, and that when you are running for your lives, you are avoiding puddles!

As for people saying it sucks, whats the point in posting if you havent anything creative to say? You don't have to say it was great if you didn't think so, but offer some advice or encouragment!

I give this film a rating of 2 for a good effort and for making me laugh!

Keep at it and you will improve your skills.

hah thats so cool because I thought the locale looked familiar, but then read in the description that it was infact filmed pretty close to my house ( I think)

anyway, on the movie.

Some of the effects were alright (mainly bazooka oriented) but this really had no structure, but I realize you were really just going for a pure action type film, but it seemed the action was shooting at trees with a guy behind it, repeat. I suggest you film at Cottonwood again sometime, because it is really beautiful, and you could work some amazing shots there.
