Could anyone make the following plugins, or suggest which existing plugins could be manipulated to create the same effect?
-a large tsunami-like wave hading towards the camera
-looking down on the surface of a piece of water, with movement of ripples and waves on the surface.

Thanks

For a big tidal wave I would suggest a 3D app like maya.....trouble is that option is going to be expensive. You could do some stuff in cheaper or free 3D programs (I'll find tutorials if you want), but the results will probably not be that great. Shooting to foreground on a greenscree, or on a blue sky if the forground is buildings, and then going to the beach and filming a normal wave up close and then sticking the 2 together could work. As for the looking down on waves one....jut go to a cliff and point the camera down. There are some effects in particle illusion (www.wondertouch.coM) which could work, and the program is a worthwile download anyway.
Hope thats helped

The problem with water is that it's extremely difficult to replicate realistically with 3d programs. (atleast in my experience).

Your best bet would be to find some stock footage of a tidal wave and create a plugin with that or as previously mentioned, supersize a normal wave wink

I went looking through the net and found some rather nice views looking down on water, so I'll make a plugin from those. I just need to find a wave now - I'll just have to keep looking!
