Cast member not found

When i install alamdv and open it it says cast member not found ,continue yes or no . i put no and when it opens the effect bar is 2 places out of proportion, so the blue dots arnt in line with the beging and end?? can anyone help

Do you have working versions of Quicktime and Windows Media Player (if you're on a PC)? Try reinstalling the program, and make sure you're in 32-bit colour mode. IF that doesn't help, let us know.

Are you installing it to the default location? Sometimes installing to a deep folder can cause problems.
Could you tell me what versions of Quicktime and Windows you have, as well as which video card you have.

Well Alamdv ive had working on my computer before i unistalled it for some space ,now i have enough to get it back . But now it doesnt work , Just installing quick time again. And i insyall it to the location it tells me too which is c:drive .ill let you know if after installing quick time it works
=edit= Well the cast member eror didnt come up this time. But the effect time line is still out of proportion. any other ideas. cus i said it did used to work

If it used to work fine, then something must have changed on your setup. Any idea what it might be?
Could you put a screenshot up of what the timeline looks like?

to me your timeline looks fine
Have you read the manual, it may be a case of just scrolling a little.

look at the placement of the blue dots . i havent moved them , there out of place with the ends

that's because some effects have set lengths, like explosions...

I'm having trouble downloading your picture (any chance of uploading it as a compressed jpeg?), but out-of-position markers on the timeline is usually due to the Terminal font problem.
