Making effects is simple.
But where do you get the right sounds for your explosions and lightswords?

I would suggest Video Games, Movies and other stuff.

http://theforce.net/theater/postproduction/soundfx/index.shtml - Star Wars sounds.

And just a tip, search on Google, I'm sure you'llfind something.

www.sounddogs.com is pretty good too, huge library of sounds. And go to official video game websites and they sometimes have sounds, i.e-the old Indiana Jones game for the N64.
