Becuse I want to buy AlamDV, but cannot aggree with 3.6 of the Licence Agrement whitch would place me in Violation of 3.8 & Disable my use of the Software Package.
The Video is to show, Would you WANT your company Logo on this film ??
3.6 In the event that you produce a film (other than for your own use) in any format whatsoever which features special effects produced from the Software you may not distribute such film without having endorsed on the film the following credit caption located in the AlamDV2.tif file included in this install
Dont TELL me what I MUST place on any Film that I create.
I do enjoy the software, & would have no problem buyng it, but To FORCE the Inclusion of a LOGO on the PAID version is wrong.

hmm, my interpretation of that is just to have a little credit thing at begginging or end, stating that the film was aided by alamdv....
not a water mark or anything, so i dont think its too much to ask?

If you don't like the Licence agreement then don't buy the program - SIMPLE. You can buy a production version of AlamDV2 for a higher cost that requires no crediting.
DO NOT TRY TO FORCE US TO CHANGE OUR LICENCE AGREEMENT WITH CHILDISH PRANKS. You could have easily talked to us about stuff like this but instead you decided to post a bad taste fake movie.
If you had taken the time to tell us about the movie you are making and why you can't put our name in the end credits then we may have agreed to something.
This kind of rubbish has NO place on the AlamDV forum.
We will be contacting your web host.

Don't sweat it. Almost all packages say if you use our product you have to say so. That is what copyright is all about. (If someone used something I worked hard on your darn tootin' I would want a mention!)
Boy, I do have to say, for being the most affordable and the highest quality software (not just FX but software) I thought that would inoculate your company from some of that but.... no.
Keep up the great work! I love the package and so don't a bunch of other people. (I give ALAMDV more time in the credits of my new movie than me!) Take care, God bless and hang in there.

I'd be glad you mention Alam DV2 and put their logo in the credits in any movie I make! That's nothing compared to how much pain and effort I'd need to go through to produce the effects without it!
Hooray for Alam DV!

You guys are too great to us. I think the same guy was on the chat room getting angry that we don't let people sell plugins for AlamDV. Again this is part of keeping the community going. Otherwise everything would start to cost extra money and AlamDV would no longer be an inexpensive program for the amateur market.
We understand that for some things you might now want to include the logo - like if your were applying to a special effects course and you didn't want them to see how easy it was to make your movie, or its your first production for TV and you don't have much time for any random extra credits. In these kind of cases we are more than willing to let you take the credit off as long as people tell us what they are doing so we know and we can tune in or get a copy or your movie (we love to see our users movies)
Its just at the end of films you often see thing like:
"Effects By ILM using SGI Computers."
and at the end of Toy Story or Monsters Inc it says:
"Rendering by RENDERMAN."
It would just be nice to have AlamDV and the web site mentioned so that people can find us - you know we are a very small company and we've got to advertise
Again, if the logo is too big or doesn't fit with the scheme of your credits then tell us and we can fix something else. Its not a hard and fast rule as long as you talk to us there are always options - thats why we didn't state that the logo should be shown for 5 seconds or anything like that.
We make AlamDV for the amateur market and we will try to help our users in every way possible. But if you are a corporate/big business user then we are still willing to go without the logo on your productions as long as we can say on our website that AlamDV was used in your production - again you would need to contact us about this. If you don't like that idea then you can always buy a production version which mean no crediting is needed - contact us for more details.
The message is clear - if you've got a problem with AlamDV2 or the licence agreement then talk to us - we can always sort things out

Thank you Schwar for removing the link...I viewed it about an hour or so ago by mistake...I was first shocked. Then sick to my stomach...Really physically sick..
I know it's not your fault (here at AlamDV), I'm just disgusted...I'm outraged. That was the most horrible thing I've ever had (and was stupid enough to click on the link) seen....You should report his stupid ass to the authorities, he's definitely one disturbed individual...Sorry to everyone else...It was very upsetting..

You can be sure we will do our best. It shocked me that someone would put this up (fake or not) on a site which is used by all ages groups from 6 to 60. I will talk to Malone about the best ways of dealing with it - he knows all about the ways of the web. For now I think I have banned him from posting - I'm sure Malone will have a better idea.
We have been luck in that we don't get many people trying to harm us and whenever they do appear AlamDV users rally together and fight them off.
I will tell the mods to keep a look out.

No. The point was wrong. The link was wrong. It was sick. It was disturbed, and it makes me angry. You have NO right....ever....to do that. I'm sorry to make this read like a flame for everyone else, but I'm sure the people at AlamDV would not want to be associated with that kind of pornograpy. I want to buy AlamDV, and I personally don't give a flying f**k what you don't like about the program. You have done AlamDV and myself a major disfavour, and better hope to God that someone within the legal community in U.K. does not jump all over AlamDV or you for what you did...
Again, my apologies to AlamDV, and others who may read this forum. I just wanted to buy the program, and see what people were doing with it. I wasn't expecting to have nightmares for the rest of my life...

Hmm, we can tell what you are doing
Are you sure it isn't your site - it would seem so from the IP and domain data we have. We will be contacting your host and talking to our solicitors.
As we did not host the movie we are ok but I'm sure earthlink would like to know what you are hosting with them - don't even bother deleting it as they can just check there logs. Its also helpful that your .com holds you address and contact information which we will also pass on to your hosts etc..[ This Message was edited by: schwar on 2002-02-27 03:03 ]

There is no way I can fully appoligize for what I have done, And I admit that I was wrong. I know you will not forgive me, But I do appologize from the bottom of my heart. There is no excuse for that link, And as I lookback at it, I need to do some serious soul searching to seek forgivness.
Once again I am sorry for any & all pain I may of caused.
One Major Idot.

Thanks again Schwar. I see that you are sincere in putting a stop to this, and further abuses of this site.
I would suggest that you not allow posts from Anonymous users from this point on and only allow registered users. I am sincere when I say that I am having a hard time dealing with this. I believe that I might go to the hospital tonight and talk to someone. It has really affected me....
I'm just glad that my children did not see this by accident.
I hope that you do pursue this with his ISP, and whatever local authorities there may be.
Piss on a his apologies. It's not accepted..

I never saw this movie (which apparently is a good thing), but I would be proud to put AlamDV in the credits of any movies I use it on. Any actor who contributed a performance to the movie would get credit, right? The person of crew who does the special effects would get credit, right? Well, from where I am standing, that crew IS CSB-Digital, and anyone in the AlamDV community who contributes effects or suggestions for the program. If I pop Schwar's lightswords into my movie, using the program he wrote, that does not make me an effects wizard. He did all the hard stuff--give him the credit.
I don't know where this guy is coming from.
