I am making a new film with a character that uses pyrokenesis and I need a a type of flame that looks like the girls in the movie hellboy or a sci-ops the mindgate conspiracy [xbox] kind of psychic flame that emerges around whoever he is using his telekenesis on.

These should work OK. You need to mask around the edges, though, because there is some spillage. Oh, and be sure to tween them properly!

I'm also a fan of this plugin:

Actually if you want to engulf a whole person in flames, like in Hellboy, I am afraid that is way too hard/long/expensive, at least from what I know. Maybe if somebody made a kind of burning flame ball plugin that you could overlay onto him, but it wouldn't look too good.

... you could always really set the person on fire smile

EDIT: Hmm the plugin wouln't be of much use to you though, you don't have Alam!

first of all I know I dont have alamdv im getting it in about a week. Second all I need are some flaming balls that flame above the persons palms, kind of like pyro in x-men2 except it needs to be blue I dont need them engulfed in flames I said like the girl in hellboy not exactly.

Okay, first of all: The plugins I gave you were just some examples for what you could use instead of having someone make a new plugin. Second of all: Making a plugin that makes fire engulf the whole body would be pretty hard to do. And third of all: The plugins I linked to are captures of actual fire, and though they have some red in them, they look mostly blue (probably because of the temperatures of the original ACTUAL flame. And, if you tween these plugins properly, and overlay; (as Pooky suggested) the final result can come out quiite good. It did for us! Lastly, if I hadn't yet purchased ALamDV I don't think I would have the validation to request a plugin. But thats just my thoughts. neutral Well, anyways, I hope everything works out with your plugin crisis and, as always,
Good Luck Filmmaking!

EDIT:
I'm teribly sorry, I hadn't yet read all the posts thus far in this thread. For fireballs floating in someone's hand similar to pyro in X-men (X-men 1 where they have a different pyro for one scene is probably a better example) all you have to do is loop an explosion positioned over the hand, add a small blue lightbulb with a high glow, and dark force flame plugin and you've got yourself a pretty good looking fireball. Be sure to add the light bulb in the center of the fireball and over the other plugins a. so that the bulb itself is less noticable and b. so that the glow colorises the fireball blue and a little bit of the hand holding it blue, to mimic the light given off by fire. I really hope this helps! smile

That would be cool andrew thankyou for thinking also a thanks to ben for trying, I will try to do that when I get alamdv. The reason I dont have it yet is because we are are cleaning my computer clean in about a week and I dont want to wipe alamdv from it. But it would also be really cool to have my own plugin.

You're not a registered AlamDV user, you will not be able to use plugins with your version of the software. Nor are you legally allowed to ask for them on the site.

Unless you have the program and register your magic code. please refrain from such afforementioned activities.

On a different note, who farted?

You can re-download, and retype the serial, magic code is for this websites registration. Has nothing to do with anything else except plugins.

Hey wait! I just got the internet working on my desktop! If you still want to use my idea you can just use the preset firetrail and the AlamDV_Lightbulbs, then select the blue one and overlay it and it should look DECENT. Of course, its nothing compared to what Rawree has, but at least its a start, and you're capable of doing this without downloading any plugins. smile
