Yesterday I drove to a nearby town up in Michigan. The town is mostly surrounded by tall hills and mountains, and you can have a very pleasant hike down any of the numerous trails there. Anyway, I was climbing one trail and enjoying the good weather when I saw what looked like a silver box. When I approached, I saw it was a digital camera!

It's a 3.3 mpixel powershot S20! Slightly scuffed, but otherwise fine. It rained today, so I was really lucky to get there when I did. When I got home, I also saw it had a 300 mb hard drive inside! Cha-ching! cool This is like a 300 dollar value folks, I pity the fool who dropped it so carelessly. Anyway, just wanted to share. It also has some nice pictures on it, and I'm putting those up in this thread, hence the photos tag. My hosting is going to take a hit for this one, but some of these pics are really nice and would make great wallpapers! Enjoy!

Edit: Got a mirror now. Bandwidth will thank me smile

Are those pictures that the guy who dropped it took of the area you were hiking in? Cause those are some AWESOME looking locations. If they are, I would take advantage of such a location. wink

Nice find.
Did the ghostly stooped figure in this pic have something to do with the owner's disappearance?

It looks like a guy with a backpack hiking, and his friend was probably taking pictures. Its probably done in early morning or right after it rained due to the foggy appearance and the wet lense.

EDIT: The location reminds me of the outdoors metal staircases in Jurassic Park 3. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

HOLY COW! If you look at the pictures, you see they're taken in order, the guy went up some tower, then he saw a guy in a mirror. All the pics after that are blurred, as if he is running. Then one on the ground.... CREEPY!

Wait a minute... if you look at the pic just before the guy in the mirror one, you'll see that the one after that is taken trhough the planks, and it has some sort of caution thing on the planks, which reads "Caution, Low -----" can't read the last word though.

I've asked my dad if he thinks they are real or not, he seems to believe that most of them are legit. Flip - your camera seems to be spooked and catches things that aren't there to our naked eyes.

I'd image Tim Burton would like to get a hand on this woods.

I want to go hike there. There are some creepy things in the pictures, and even if they are fake, it's still pretty nifty!

My advice: Trash the camera now! It's freaky! And never go back to those woods!

Real or not, I think this should be turned into a horror film. Titled: The camera. This would be excellent! The plot would make a masterpiece thirller. I could make it for you or if you'd like to make it yourself, ofcourse. But, if you do, may I write the script since I am an excellent writter? biggrin

Pooky - most of that isnt photoshop, like those markings. It has to be a real location.

Flip if this is for a movie - dont film there at night without a crew of like at least 20 and alot of lights smile, if it was me I wouldnt film there at all.

edit -

this one was pretty easy to spot.

hahahahahahaha, this is def fake. This is the 3dsmax combustion fog in use. And the material on the skeleton is a standard 3dsmax material.
This photo looks as if clicked with a flash. Though there is no affect on the fog. EDIT: It seem's as if the photo was taken at night, hence disrupting the whole order and timing of the photo's taken, i may be wrong to.

I want you to know that this is the second time I'm editing this because the first time I was going to post on here, I started saying what storyline I'd make up based on my theory of the pics. And when I got to it, I couldn't stop. Luckily, it isn't anything like what everyone else was thinking. It's pretty much different. I wrote down a long pitch to evman, and he's fricking loving it too.

Evan: im excited
Evan: this is gonna be freakin sweet
Lou: yeah!
Lou: i can't wait
(I'm Lou if you didn't know)

So thanks haijiku flip! You have inspired a totally new idea.

~DE-EVOLUTION STUDIOS CLAIMS THIS IDEA~

And if you do, think of, or prepare, and anything like this...WE'LL COLLECT YOUR <fxhome censor> HEAD!
Bye now. I'm off to write up storyboards with Evman.

yeah, screw our feature in production... wink

oh, and don't worry, we aren't going to use these pics. we are going to locations near us and taking pics there, then altering them similarly to what has been done to these. our pics will change along the course of the movie though. oh god this is so cool.

P.S. - thinking about naming it "the camera" as someone said before.

Haha!

Flip, you should now create a blog and create a fake name like "Dana" and start posting comments such as "They're out to get you!". Then, randomly change the images here and there. It'll work! oink

I read the whole post and obviously realised it was'nt real however I had hoped it was a real film project though. A location like that should not go to waste. That said a friend of mine arrived at a more believable conclusion. Flip killed the photographer and his friends, and probably the photographers whole family in order to steal the camera. Is'nt that right Flip.... or should I say, MURDERER !!!

Um...Flip probably has no idea where these pics were taken or who took them, as this is just a spread rumor on the internet. Read LtMcMurphy's post and click the link.
