Hey csb crew. Through the chat and all, we could all tell csb is going through some financial troubles...I was just curious if it would be possible to give some money to the cause, and how much money we could put in to possibly get a stake into csb...Any answers would be good. Thanks.

It is very kind for people to keep offering us money - we must be mad not to take it smile

We are just about ok at the moment and would feel really bad about taking your money for nothing. If it ever gets to the point that everything might die you can be sure we'll make some kinda donation thing on the site rather than go under but this isn't called for at the moment - we don't think it ever will be.

But thank you very much for the offer - it means a lot to us. The best thing you can do to help us is try and get your schools/college to buy our new software when it comes out - we offer huge discounts to schools. That way you get FXhome at school and at home smile

you could sell t-shirts. everyone needs t-shirts! well, except for jerks.
I know this has been talked about before, but I would so buy an overpriced t-shirt from here, and we could all be walking billboards! If you don't tell them, I may just make one anyway

I'd buy a shirt too... but two of the best things I ever made for my band as merchandise was coozies and stickers... both of those things sold way better than the t-shirts... just ideas smile

although this stuff comes with an initial investment... sad

maybe you could sell Force points smile LOL those won't cost anything and be 100% profit smile LOL and I bet there's people that would pay for it! LOL (I would, just to support) wink

well i think they should have a thing where if you donate you automatically get superuser status, and more force, many other forums have thing like this where if you donate you grt a thingy under your avatar that says supporting member.

Except for the fact that Super Users aren't picked because of that. And that would really ruin the perpose of them.

Super users, for the record, are chosen by members who have usually been with the company from the start, and who are mature and helpful members on the board. And of course, other things apply that are just judgmental.

No you shouldn't buy suer user, but supporting member, that makes sense... I know you don't want to take money for nothing Schwar, but we just wanna help out any way we can... smile

here's another idea, that wouldn't be taking money for nothing... Offer users some "Space" to host their personal pages and movies... a couple of dollars a month or something... just an another idea...

and I know you didn't really ask for any ideas, so if you want us to clam up, just let us know smile LOL

Or hey... How about, we could try and get more people to buy the products CSB already offers! What a concept!

Why are y'all trying to think of money making schemes? A company that sells software wants to sell software.

Because they cant sell software if they dont have financial backing to make the software and distribute it in the first place. Everyone was just looking to find ways to help out the csb gang, so dont go and blow it out of the water like your this genius with all the money know how in the world. If a company can make money, then it should go for that oppertunity, no matter what their title dictates that they should sell.

Yeah, but extra funding wouldn't hurt. I'd like a T-Shirt. Maybe CSB could have a personalization option where they could add your studio name on the T-Shirt along with whatever CSB graphics may entail. Just an idea. I know I'd rather order one than go out, by transfers, buy a blank t-shirt, buy a new printer cartridge, set up the printer, print it, iron it on and wash it.

Hmm. I like the T-Shirt idea (mostly because I originally suggested it before! smile ), but I think the donations are a bit absurd. Really, has your life become so obsessed with Fxhome that you would donate your money to a software company? I mean, if you want to give money away, give it to the United Way or some group that really needs it and can help people a lot from it.

From what we've been hearing, the CSB guys have plenty of ideas to make money in the future once Alam3 is out. Just wait until these are in place and you can help these guys out the way it's supposed to be done. smile

Right, that's what I'm doing...

If they're having that much trouble, donations would be the best option, because that way they wouldn't have to go out and spend money in order to sell something that is not guaranteed to sell. Get what I'm saying?

Just my opinion, don't attack me because of it.

I was turned on to AlamDV1 when therre was a free version in MacAddict some time ago. I wonder why I said that. Oh, and I got new shoes today.

CSB is a company... having donations is sort absurd... unless CSB was REALLY going under in a matter of hours or something.

Over-priced T-Shirts work... sort of. CSB is a software company, though, not a clothing line. Your best bet for helping CSB out is to just start lobbying their products to schools and friends.

The more software they sell, the more money they have. Yeah, back to basics smile

Don't you see it!?!?

CSB is a software company. T-shirts are soft, and you wear them. It fits right in to their business plan.

uhhh... I got a couple of Microsoft T-Shirts, and I have polo shirts for my company as well (and I own a software company too)

advertising is advertising...

but I agree (and already said) that this takes an initial investment that they probably don't want to make right now... so it's probably not going to happen anyway... smile

oh, and one other thing... me personally... I don't think of the guys at CBS Digital like just a software company, they're much more than that. and they don't treat me (or any of us) like a software company generally treats its users... So if I WERE to make a donation or whatever, it would be in the relationship, not just a company... make sense? and that's just my opinion...

I never said anything about t shirts acu. I was asking if i could help out in any way. Your right that they do software and should focus on it, but like others have said, the advertising aspect of it is a nice benefit and some extra money on the side cant hurt.

I agree, I just don't think trying to get them to sell extra stuff is a good way to go about it. There's plenty of people here who have said "I'm going to buy the software when I have the money", but they never do. I think that's a problem.

I quite value the community here, and I'd be willing to throw a couple of quid into the pot.

I suppose ultimately it depends whether you veiw FXhome.com as ancilliary to the product or a product in itself, doesn't it?

Also, I made T-Shirts for Adams Bros. Films about a year ago and peole thought it was awesome when I wore one and they watched my movies because the T-Shirt sparked interest. Oh yeah, and T-Shirts are cool. They're comfy and nice. 'Nuff said. Bring on the T-Shirts!

EDIT: xbreaka- Ah, the power of Save Picture As and then reuploading it so it appears as my sig pic. But Tarn thought that adding the CSB logo wasn't a good thing to do, so I changed my sig to a previous one.

I really do want to make my school to by csb softwares, but then everybody on my school can make a movie with effekts, and that meens that im not the only one. Then I whouldn't get so high grades in moviemakeing. But when I'm out of the scool I'm gonna make them by the softwares.

At the moment, I'm negotiating with my university to install a few video editing computers here, plus software such as Adobe Premiere. I'll make sure I get them to buy a few licenses for Alam & Chromy.
