I need an intro for an upcoming project that I'm working on and was hoping someone on here would have the time to help me out since I haven't had the time yet to learn any 3d applications.

What I'm looking for is an intro that somehow starts with a cow, and then a tank rolls on screen and shoots the cow, followed by the words "Exploding Cow Productions". I'm not looking for anything too graphic though, since it will need to be shown in school.

If anyone is interested in helping me and has any questions, you can email me at Jaggbot@comcast.net or im me on AIM.. sn= Jagg152

Thanks Guys

I can make it. I will give it a shot tonight. Expect it by tommorow night if I make it. I will try though. What kind of ground? What kind of sky?

Ok, I got something cooked up, it is one of my first animations, it's pretty good and I think you will like it. It'll be up tonight or tommorow. Probably and hopefully tonight.

Here it be, http://cpostudios.com/Cowubunga.avi If you want anything changed, lemme know, if you want the tank shooting cahnged, I will edit it out and you can do that part yourself. I don't feel like dealing with Alam on Mac OSX. If you want the audio, or ANYTHING changed, just let me know.

EDIT: It'll be up soon. It's in the process of uploading.

EDIT 2: It's up. http://cpostudios.com/Cowubunga.avi

Wow, I wasn't expecting anything that fast. It looks good though, thanks. Any chance that you could have the cow move a little bit towards the beginning? What program did you use?

I used Cinema 4d, I can't really make him move because that model didn't have any limbs. It's just one big solid cow. Sorry. confused

Also, could you make it so that the cow flies completely out of view at the end, followed by about 5 seconds of just the tank left on screen instead of the text? I would like to use an alam effect in there to make it look like the cow actually explodes instead of just flying off screen. So the cow will get shot, fly towards the camera with an explosion, and then it will be gone and i'll add the text back in after that. Thanks again Serpent.

So make him fly off to the right and and have it explode? I have pyrocluster for Cinema 4d, I can do a 3d explosion, it will look better, Pyrocluster looks realistic etc. Or I could have it fly at the camera but still with a 3d explosion.

Ok, a better, updated one will be up tonight. Better landscape, an actual explosion, and maybe an animated cow. It might be up tommorow, no it will be up tommorow, I am VERY busy tonight.

If you can do the explosion with cinema4d that'd be awesome. Just keep the cow going right at the camera. It'll look better that way.

From the movies I have seen, the tank bullet usually explode, so I think that whould be most realistic...

Well, depending on the type of ammo used it might explode. A high explosive round such as HEAP or HESH, more likely the latter, may explode on contact. But since a cow, while being a big heavy beast, is fairly soft skinned compaired to a tanks normal type of target it probably would just send if flying ( in a few pieces mind you). If using a round just for armour piercing it would more than likely go straight through it. And leave a wee hole.

But since its a comic style intro and majority of movies hype up their damage cause for effects, how cares...I just thought I'd write something about tanks and stuff...biggrin

I am going to use a 3d "bomb" or whatever as the turret thingy raises upward, it will shoot waaaay up, and land right next to the cow, a 3d explosion made in pyrocluster (realistic) again sends the cow flying at the screen and covers the sreen in black, the title will appear, dissapear, and if you want, the cow can slide down, but with a chroma key green background so you can make it a transition (if you want.) The grass texture will be better and the landscape not so planish looking. The cow may be animated as well.

Actually, the cow would explode when hit with a high explosive round. My government teacher told us a story the other day about something that happened back when he was in the army. They used to train with tanks on farmland. The local farmers would let the army use whatever land the cows weren't grazing on for this training. So one day, a cow strayed onto this field that they were doing shooting practice on. Before anyone had a chance to say not to, someone decided it would be cool to shoot the cow. So they hit it with a high explosive round and the cow completely exploded in a cloud of red. Afterwards, there was nothing left but some blood on the ground where the cow used to be.

Thats what the intro is going to be used for. This project and all the upcoming videos for that class. So having the cow actually explode would be great if you can do that.

Well, Jagg, I won't argue against your teacher, but that story sounds a bit fishy as all live firing exersizes are undertaken usually well away from such location. Should this also not be the case, unless it was the very first round fired that day with no vehicle movement then I doubt it, as any of these noises would cause the animals to run with fear. Incase you think I am just making up a load of tosh, I was in the 4th Royal Tank Regiment for a few years, and have fired one or two rounds over that time.

Anyhoo, its a fairly redundant argument as were really wanting an on screen effect which is 9 times out ten going to be differnt from the real thing.

I was just going by what we were told by him. Unlike me though, you actually know what you're talking about. But, since this intro is being made to go along with that story, correct or not, I would like to have the cow explode.

So mean pieces of him come off? Or just an explosion? I say the coolest and best looking would be: Explosion lands right behind cow and he flies at the camera. I can maybe try where pieces fly at camera and cover up the llense, causing blackness then the title, but I don't think I have the ability yet. Hybrid, care to give me some pointers? smile I just want to know how to make good particles and stuff, Like, smoke, blood, fire, and object turning into particles. The blood and turning into would be most important. But my first way would be cooler and better IMO. It just looks so awesome and funny having the cow spin at the camera.

I would do whatever you think looks the best. But like i said in the beginning, since its a school video, I don't want it to be too graphic.... so no blood and flying parts is probably best for this.

Ok, good, do you want that transition where the cow slides down? Is there going to be a scene after this is the main thing I mean, because that would look cool.

You got offline before i could say this, but if you think that it looks better with the transition, then i'd go with that. I'm gonna trust your judgement on this.

Here is an updated screen with better graphics and stuff. Ok, I'll do it, you can cut early if it looks bad. It improved A LOT and the tank will be sittyng on the grass, I have to re animate, well, raise that area of grass anyways. And the missile will be motion blurred so it wont look bad.

Okey, I just dont wanna jump into your buisness, but I think this blowing up a cow thing is just, cool + It got me hungry.
So I just wanna post something I thought about.
Since this is an intro, and will be fairly amuzing one,I would consider re-using it.
If I were you guys I would really do the background and grass in just pure white.
Just to get that intro feeling more, the cow animation and tank works really good, but the background just dont.
Just for fun if its not to much trouble I would render a white background version with shadows and such.

Hmmm, that whould really look good, but if they HAVE to use the backround they're using now, then they should add something like mountains or a barn... The scene looks so empty.

Yes, finally I am done. I hope you are pleased, I like it. No animated cow before the "explosion", sorry. Add the explosion in Alam, pyrocluster is difficult. Also a muzzle flash is good too, look on google for an example of tank muzzle flash for size. But use chromy to mask the explosion behind the cow. Use Tarn's tutes for that.

Thanks Serpent... The intro turned out great. I've posted on here before asking for similar help, but nobody has ever helped me out at all. I was expecting the same response this time, but you really surprised me. Not only by helping me out, but by having the first version finished after one night. I'll post a link as soon as I finish putting in the explosion so that everyone can see the finished clip.

Thanks!!!!!
