I'm making a reenactment of the Battle of Little Big Horn. I need some horses for the indians, as they cost $58 a day at Kualoa Ranch. And please suggest existing plugins that might be usefull in this genre. Also could someone please tell me how to get rid of the big black square that always boxes my plugins? I click "Black is transparent" but it doesnt seem to work and I don't really know what it means.

Using real horses is a good idea - good luck! As for plugins that might be useful, the only I'd suggest will be in the guns/muzzle flahes section. There are a few good ground gun smoke plugins that are worth playing with. Filter through the section and try a few to find what might work for your project. If you were looking for character plugins, there are not really any that would suit this type of project, and franky wouldn't look very realistic. Use real actors/animals/props when available - it always looks better and saves time in the end.

As for the black frame - this sounds like the plugin outline that signifies where the physical space of the plugin ends, within AlamDV's workspace. This will not be visable, once the clip is rendered.

Have fun filming. Can't wait to see what you come up with!~

haha yeah i know about the frame, but it I don't know how to alpha channel, so the transparent part is black, so it is literally a filled in black square around my cutout ot image.

Read the guide on how to make alpha channels. They are more accurate and useful to learn.

If you use black transparent, the black must be exactly black, so if there is any compression like in a jpeg it wont work. You should use bmp or tiff.
