Yikes, 2004 is almost over, times goes by to quick!

First a quick review of 2004 and the old thread:
Looking back at the 2004 thread I said I was going to do some Zombie movie which I did (Exseqour), except I cut away all footage with Zombies so it ended up as some stupid Steven Segal Movie.
I also mentioned a Music Video, which we finished but put on the shelf.

In my second post there I mentioned a film called " chicks, beer and a garage", which have been rewritten completly like 5-6 times and is now known as LAJF. which I'm in the making of now.

The time I wrote thoose posts I was pretty sure I would make it, but I have to say I'm a bit suprised that I did (or is doing)!

2005
Let's see. LAJF. actully have a sequel waiting. It ended up as two short movies instead of a half feature one.
I have no idea if it will be made. Really NO idea, if the first one will be good. Then maybe yes.

I belive during the winter nothing will be made, I just have this thing about snow. If I ever going to make a movie set in snow it will be a christmas story, don't ask me why.

I hope I get into some more Music Videos, and hope to get some of my scripts put on film.
It's a bit early to get into 2005, to far ahead for me. And since I'm making a movie now, I haven't even thought about making something other.
Don't think I'm going to do more action for a hell of a time now.
Since I got into making LAJF and writing that script, I've absolutly fallen in love doing more drama and love, It's a completly diffrent way of doing movies than AlamDV packed pointless action flicks. smile
So I only think I get something into the cinema when Digigrade arrives which should be this year so no worries there really.

thanks for me

I think the best part of looking back at what I planned for this year is the realization that I'm more of a failure than a person who achieves. I look at our "Planned Movies" list, and I realize just how unreasonable I was.

But expect more from De-Evolution Studios in the upcoming year! (If that's a good thing to you)

Well, several things are being planned for our ambitious group at Atomic Productions. Ben and I went to an Apple store a couple days ago, and snooped around the new G5s. Aside from our promo deal, we'll be getting a G5 and an XL-1 by next year, (birthdays-cha-ching!) and we are working on purchasing a GL2-2 by next month. As far as our upcoming Projects:

January-

"Hitman & Malleti"
A dark comedy about two opposite hitmen; a savvy/slick sharpshootist and an old-school quirk that loves Apple Jacks. Shaping up to be about 20 minutes long, and turning out pretty good.

"Static Shock"
Like the original comic and popular TV show, this folows the basic story of the first 6 episodes of "Static Shock". I wanted to do this earlier, but we just dont have the money for it yet. I'm even more determined, since they cancelled the show after 5 seasons.

"The Friendship"
Most people know about this project. We're almost done filming as it is, but we are waiting off on editing/producing/nine yards until we update our equipment. This is looking to be our most ambitious project (besides "Atom" the movie) to date. Probably going to be released before January, but we have to plan for the worst, right? This is looking to be a good "BRUK-length" long. (45 or so minutes)

March-

"CODENAME: Kids Next Door"
I gotta say, I'm a big fan of TV/comic/book-to-film movies. A small project I'm hoping to do with my younger siblings. A short little "mission" featuring the plot formula and characters of the hit TV show "Codename: KND". Don't know if I'll make this one, but I'd sure like to.
(British accent) "Numbers 2,3,4,5, assemble!"

"Untitled so far"
Hoping to do some sort of monster-slayer movie with my new wire set and haloween stuff that I spent a small fortune on. Don't know when or what this will be, but if I make it, it'll be done by March.

Future stuff past March-

"Atom"
Our large-budget movie that we've been working on for the past 3 years. We wont do this until we know it's great, and as professional as possible. Not much to say about this, except that it will be awesome.

And thats as far as I know. (unless I forgot something) Ben might say a couple more things.

I just wanna get back to filming after being on the bench all year twisted

It's kinda hard for me to say right now. **VOID** I have a story that I want to turn into a script, so I'll probably write that next year, and no doubt we'll film a bunch of short crap.

I'm almost finished scoring a new short we made 3 weeks ago or so, so that'll be online pretty soon.

Well my feature length, heroic bloodshed, action, romance trundles along still.

There's the romantic comedy I've been writing, that probably won't take as long to shoot, as it's only got a few characters, no crazy sets or locations just mundane places and it'll probably be a bit of an in-action movie like "Chungking Express" thankfully I know enough about myself to stop it being pretentious and indulgent (I hope).

My mates writing a sci-fi film which I may direct, I'm not bothered about sci-fi, so it'll be a film noir style sci-fi, nice and lo-tech.

There's sequels to my current movie, which are only fantasties really.

But I want to do a "Getaway" "Bonnie and Clyde" style action pic, kind of a small, cool and quirky film a romantic, action, road movie. Just a cool guy and a cool girl, in a big car. (Today I invented a new character , there could be a Hitman who's obsessed by Antonio Banderas). I'll start it as a short but that could be the opening 20 minutes to a feature or something.

But Right now I'm just concentrating on "Sunset in a Beretta's Eye". Released this lifetime. (Maybe)

By the end of this year I will have released (if all things go to plan) my 2nd project. At the moment titled 'Project One'. Adam Kirley (flameboy) and Hybrid helped me throughout the project and I've so far spent a few hundred hours in editing. It's looking promising! smile

As for 2005, I hope to make many shorter films - alike Dreamscape. Going to try and cover as many genres as possible, and maybe film some disturbing stuff too! As well as hopefully help flameboy with his big project. As well as those, Crawling Space Zero should be filmed! With everything and the kitchen sink poured into it from me! smile

Should be a good year! Everyone look out for Project One, and Crawling Space Zero. Thanks!

I am in the final stages of securing the rights to write a screenplay and film a movie based on a book written by a friend (damn published works and their procedures). I hope to start filming in June. Otherwise it will be a 2006 film(damn Canadian winters).

This will end up being a full length film (Projected at about 180 minuites).

I just hope I can pull it off. crazy

as for 2005:

Paradox:
This ones my baby. I've been doing concept art and storyboarding for this movie for about a year now.
Its about the son of a pair of weapon engineers trying to find the killers of his parents.

Lanier:
A thriller based around the lake in my home town. Nearly every state on the east coast of the US has some type of mysterious monster story. Georgia has none that I know of, so I figured I'd create my own.

Those are the current projects I'm working on as of now. Production is slow and steady because I'm in my senior year and I'd like to leave high school with a fairly high GPA and, as much as I hate it that means sacrificing my movie making time.

I've got a couple projects planned for 2005, but I'm probably only going to get to the first one.

Unfortunate Circumstances: I talked about this a bit in the 2004 thread, but now the script is getting written and the actors are getting wrangled. It's a crime comedy in the vein of Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels or Grosse Pointe Blank about three friends whose lives are stuck in a rut and are recruited by a criminal friend of theirs who has just left the gang that he used to work for. Wacky hijinks, witty repartee and violence insues.

Lacuna: Based off of a creepy as hell free RPG that can be found at http://memento-mori.com/lacuna/, the story is about Mystery Agents, psychic policemen who enter the minds of criminals in a 1930's-styled collective unconsciousness called the Blue City to purge the murderous personality from the person. But everything isn't as it seems.

Untitled Project (so far): A man wakes up in the middle of a forest. Only it isn't a forest; it's a game preserve/prison where he and other captured people have to outrun and outfight frightening hunters of humans. I'm going to put some psychological horror into this one.

And pooky, I have an urge to print your poster out and see how many people look forward to seeing it in theaters soon. Very, very nice work.

The Cold Days

Black-Crime hitmen Brett & Fred are dismissed, after being told to start life again and forget about everything. Puzzled by this sudden, unexpected decision, Brett sets out to learn the reason behind this decision. Unearthing a horrifying truth, he finds himself drowning in a swamp of evil, and 'the three days of darkness' is nearing.

It is set around Rural/Countryside areas of the UK and is also most likely to be my first FXHOME release biggrin Shooting begins early December.

Well I have a short film, which is developing. Maybe one day it'll develop into a feature. It'd be my return to contemporary action movies, kind of a Bonnie and Clyde thing only with and American 50's, 60's and 70's vibe with two good lookin' people in a cadillac with guns, there's be an Antonio Banderas obsessed hitman and a dude in a white suit with a red shirt and big collar called something like "Johnny Magnet". That's pretty much all I've got to work on.

But that film won't appear for a while.

--*Defiently FIRST*--
1) Finish my movie "Hitmen" which I began one year ago almost exactly.

--*All Else to be completed in semi-chronological order*--
2) Copy all of my videos from VHS back onto my computer to put on the net.

3) Create a short horror film to enter into Fangoria Magazine's Blood Drive II Contest.

4) Start and hopefully complete our first "professionally done," extremely complicated movie, "Backmask"

5) Move out and try to get a job at a local studio.

*) Completely re-do www.phloganstudios.com (will be working on this on and off over the next few months)

Why call the movie "BlackMask" when there's already a (rather good) movie with that same title? You're just making it too hard for yourself by inviting comparison to a professional and extremely entertaining movie that already exists.

Its called Backmask, not blackmask. Backmask is when you play a song backwards and there are subliminal messages in it, whereas I assume a Blackmask is a mask that is black in color.

First, complete preproduction on my prologue

pre://d.o.mai.n

And then use it as means to get assistance to film the feature length
film that follows it,( d.o.mai.n ).

If I get the prologue filmed and sent off to the Maine film festival, I'll be happy. There are some pretty amazing effects involved, but then again, that statement is thrown around quite a bit here, so we'll see.

Our schedule has changed a bit...

1 - By the end of this month, our new movie "The Four Mission" will be released

2 - Within the next 2 or 3 months, "American Idiots 2" will come out.

3 - "A Snitch in the System" will most likely be out before summer time, but it might be later.

4 - "The Camera" will begin filming in may or june and has an estimated release time of late july or early august.

5 - We will also fill out the last part of 2005 with one or two shorts (We will have just completed a 45 minute movie.)

Well thats really what we have planned, working a round school is a bitch, but we mainly put this here so we wouldn't forget! biggrin

Overall, expect some good stuff from De-Evolution Studios this year.

Ok, I have been putting forth much money/effort toward a short film called Calamity. I hope to release by Summer time. I am working on other mini projects in between like, "The Lake, Serpent's Remake", tests that will be focused on the effect and once accomplished will be used in Calamity (Title in progress), I plan on working on a horror film called Bloody Mary, I already wrote a first draft of that script<This will be another work hard on movie, I want to do a little action short based on Jet Force Gemini, and I plan on doing many other little shorts and tests in between. My New Years resolution is to have 8 movies by the end of the year, 2-3 will be big ones that i really focus on, maybe a fan film, among other movies. The rest will be just tests.

Starting the 10th of January, I'll be involved with doing some animation for the International Auto Show in Toronto, Canada.

In Febuary I've got some work to do on a music video for an indie band. Mostly treatment of footage, but there will be one sequence where a Camera flies across a table and into a bottle of alcohal (ala, Jerry Bruckheimer) and the band is inside playing, which will be a very interesting challenge.

In March or April i'll be working on some small animations and modeling projects to get my portfolio up to par.

After that it's going crazy and sending my Demo Reel out to every single VFX/Animation house I can find.

Oh, and near the end of December i'll be starting on VFX for a Twighlight Zone-esq indie film. Got a year to perfect the vampire dusting effect. *shudder*

Already started my Halo movie, only ten min. are done. Right now several of our sets are really flooded, so were moving on to different parts of the filming. We here at Hamm Media are other wise in full production and plan to have the film done be this summer or sooner. Right now we are waiting for are sets to unflood and looking at potential new sets.

I'm hoping to release "One in a Million" which will be my first movie. I'm in the process of tightening the story and completing a script.

I also hope to get a new camera before i start shooting the movie, which will be 99% filmed on greenscreen. It'll be set around the year 2031 and is going to be a sci-fi/action movie.

I'm trying to come up with a good movie symphosis to post so keep a lookout for that.

Some design work for vehicles i hope to use in the movie (being created by some of the oh so kind guys on FXHome!):

A concept poster i made, it's very very rough and doesnt feature any material for the movie, but it puts the idea across:

My second movie will be basically continuation of first one (here in the cinema - Initiation). There will be more plot then in first one, but still nothing special here - a Jedi, a padawan, and bunch of bad guys. It's like Initiation, but everything better: effects, choreography (damn, especially choreography razz ), plot, and so on, etc. That was basically our aim too - everything improved since part 1. Our second step on filmmaking way, you might say.

Forgot to mention: there is another project in our minds - I even wrote a script for it (using great tutorial from Fxhome!). It will have very little special fx, if any and will be more serious then our previous projects. Plot will be at last real plot, not an excuse cool I have some hopes concerning this one, and perhaps it can be ready in 2005 as well, because we will film it in summer, and postproduction shouldn't take too long.

EDIT
One more thing about second project for this year: it will have a lot of hand to hand fighting, and as all 3 of us at Jimbofilm studie martial arts, we hope this will turn exceptionally well!

My 2005 plan consists of a 5 minute comedy to test out all of the big effects i want to try on my bigger movie coming up. The test movie is called "Between the Swings and Slides" and my other movie I have not yet come up with a title for yet, but it is about a hitman. I am hoping to start shooting as soon as Alamdv3 is out because I don't want to get all of my shooting done and wait for alamdv3 then lose interest in the project

After that I'll probably do some Ewok videos and see where i'll get from there.

Hmm, I watched it, and I hate Yellowcard so that must have influenced my opinion on the thing.

The camera work was good, although I must say that the grading, if there was any, didn't look like a rock music video at all. Also the editing did not match the music at all at some points, which left it feelign repetitive and rather dull. The part where it starts shaking and they all jump was very cool though.

Overall, it was a nice try, I'd give it a 3/5

Ah I see.

I may make a WWII movie this summer with actual actors and constumes smile It all depends on costume prices, and if I can even find some (see my thread in the General Forum). Oh and SSJAAron, I'm not doing this to copy you BTW, it's just that for about a year now I've wanted to make a war movie, and I just recently got inspired smile

Well...

As previosly posted, I will be making a large budget (well, large budgut for me) movie called Star Com. While the script, storyboard, and other pre-production will be occuring this year, the first one, Lost on Fhuton, will probaly not be shot until next year.

In the meantime, I will do some smaller prodjects for example a Star Wars fanfilm, which script is nearly finished, along with a few others.

I'm going to be (hopefully) putting together a pretty swish VFX showreel (mainly 3D stuff) so if anyone's got any suggestions for that I'd like to hear them. one thing I really want to have a go at is a realistic car explosion...I'll see how that goes.

A horror movie: The Goat
Also got a movie in my head about Stars Wars, but I'm still not sure what to do with that.
