In "The Friendship", two friends- Brian and Chase (The same names as in real life)- go hiking in the woods. Brian gets wounded and suffers from delirium due to an infection. This causes him to go crazy and hunt down Chase. And the story goes from there. This is a trailer for the Friendship that was originally in a forum, but it has since been locked. So it is, lying in the Movie Archive, ready for everyone to watch. The full movie had to be postponed, but we plan on it being close to feature length. Enjoy!

That acting was great. Too many fades. Nicely edited otherwise. Titles were nothing special, which is sometimes a good thing. But the last title seemed out of place, the sound effect and title itself. Sound effect was horrible. And when it faded out heart beating, you could've added one of those title pages with copyrights and credits, just to add a little something to it if you wanted. And the sound compression was bad, or sound editing was bad, but it was choppy and fizzy on my player. Nicely done otherwise, a 3/5 as teasers go (usually highest I give tests and teasers, and not as often, but if not top notch, trailers.) Nice work, your best I have seen.

Thanks for the comments everyone. Yes, there will be a full movie, but it probably won't be out until January next year because Brian had to leave Dallas to go work on a play. And he's a main character, so we need him to film. I'll certainly be sending rough cuts to some FXHome members before I post the movie to get feedback prior to submission. Serpent, this includes you. wink Also, if the 'young' psychiatrist seems a bit childish, we plan on refilming most parts of that with an older woman instead of a young man. Think Oracle instead of Doogie Housser. hugegrin

Oh, and it was the sound compression, Serpent, not the editing. It sounds fuzzy for me too. But, I uploaded this to a cheap Tripod site, so it was the best I could do. I'llbe glad to send anyone a higher quality version if it's needed. And I'll post an .mpeg for those of you with .mov woes.

It's looking OK - the only thing I have to say really is that fading in and out of black in a trailer screams, to me at least, "CLICHÉ" and also "We've not got enough good footage to make an interesting trailer"!

Please, for the next trailer you do, it could really do without such an overused and dull technique. Other than that, it looks pretty cool.

Cheers,
Arktic.

It's funny you say that, because we have LOADS more footage than that. It just seemed to fit. (For us at least)

Slightly less dark than before. Still have the actors' names on screen for half a second, way too many fadeinfadeouts, OUTRAGEOUS volume peak at the end. I don't think that used to be there.

I think you guys should start working on the actual movie, rather than trying to perfect the trailer, because that's obviously not working.

I AM working on the movie. But with no actors at the moment, I have nothing else to do, with the exception of some storyboards and location scouting. There was nothing I could do about the titles, they were already incorporated into the final file once I got it and extending them without the original edit made the sound go out of sync. I know it sounds like nothing, but for people like me simple things are difficult. And I don't know what happened with the sound peak at the end. Must be from the compression or something. I'll get to fixing that and some other things later.
