My friends wanted me to film their Creative Writing project which was a music video. They chose the song "Bohemian Rhapsody" by Queen.

I only spent 2 hours shooting due to time constraints; otherwise, it would have been better.

This was ok, but you didn't make the song your own or anything - your actions literally mirrored some of the words & I think you could have done things a bit differently. Still, fun to watch & there were some visuals I liked, if not all, such as the paper in the sky slow-mo, & a bit nearing the end where there were small rays of light. You did really well to synch up the sounds with your mimes and gotta love Queen.

oops.. i forget to mention it was supposed to be a literature interpretation of the song
i am aware that it could have been much better, but i mean u cant do much with 2 hours (actually more like 1 and a half)

Hahaha, now that was a great come back. Well, jetaimaster, I have not yet had time to watch this, and I will. But no movie that was even ok that was shot in that short amount of time deserves a 0/5. But I will watch and rate.

I am greatly saddened, by having to remind people that the overall score of a movie isn't something that users have to moderate, rating a movie as 0 because you think its overall rating is too high isn't acceptable, it is not up to an individual user to rate a movie as anything other than their opinion of the movie.

Moderation of the final score occurs over time, decided by many, many users so that it's fair.

The zero vote has been removed. As Hybrid accurately pointed out, please only vote to express your proper opinion of the film in question. Do not vote to try and influence the results.

That was not bad, some interesting idea's there.

Quicker cuts in places would have helped but as you said you didn't have long to film and thus not enough angles to make the cuts faster.

well done.

That was reasonably well put together.

It's clear some effort has gone into it - but some shots were lacking in intrest, and as others have pointed out, some of the edits could have been quicker.

Quite funny though, if a little *too* literal wink

Still, quite enjoyable. 2 stars from me.

Oh come on now. If you are seriously going to flip out for every bad thing someone says about your work; filmmaking is not something you should be doing.

Don't expect that this will be the first time someone ever criticizes your work, because unless you quit now, it won't be.

Learn to take criticism and grow a pair. smile

That crap that blaine wrote isn't criticism, it's outright insult and blatant meanness. Doing something like what blaine did is just unaccpetable and unforgivable. I cannot even imagine what thoughts must be running through jetaimaster's head now. People on FXHome who seem to pawn people's feelings for their own enjoyment- most notably orion0340, Bryce007, and blaine- are peole just insecure about themselves, trying to gain some self esteem through others' failures. I would recommend disregarding anything either of these individuals says, as they are oftentimes hurtful and biased.

Ben - I agree with your sentiment entierly.

Can we *ALL* grow up a bit please. There's no need to start throwing insults around just because you don't like someone's film, nor because you disagree with their opinion over an FXhome film.

Comments like jstow222's are acceptable because although criticising the movie, he's given acctual reasons and his honest opinion. He's not said anything simply out of spite in an attempt to upset someone. But none of that can be said for blaine's post - it's just childish mate. I thought the people here were above the sort of immature jibe that would be more at home on a playground than a filmmaker's website.

Cheers,
Arktic.

Seriously ben, I'm sick of you labeling me as some kind of forum asshole. You do not know me, what kind of person I am or what I stand for. Do not make assumptions that I am insecure because I don't tell people what they want to hear, I call it like I see it.

My post in this thread had no negative connotations toward the poster of this movie. Why then do you bring me up as someone whose posts should be disregarded? I've been around these fourms a good two years longer than you have been and this is the first instance of someone labeling me as a person whose posts should be ignored because of my apparent need to "pawn people's feelings for my own enjoyment." How can you make a statement like that? What are you, just some punk kid that comes here thinking you can point out who here is worthy of your standards? I'm not here to follow your standards of sugar-coating what I have to say because I might "hurt someone's feelings".

I'm sure bryce007 and blaine share my sentiments when I say "get off your ego-trip and realize that the we aren't here to please you. We're here to share our thoughts and opinions just as you are, however we aren't going to be pussies and sit back with a "well, I might not want to speak my mind, because we don't want anybody to go and cry to their mommy's, oh gosh no!" attitude.

If something needs to be said, I will continue to say it. Regardless of whether or not someone wants to hear it. After all, sometimes people NEED to hear the voice reason, and sometimes that voice isn't going to be a kind one. That's how the world works, I know you haven't figured this out yet, but the sooner you get used to that fact, the better off you'll be. Not everybody is going to pat you on the back if it isn't deserved.

I frankly think we should stop pretending we're pshyciatrists.

...And then we should not invest too much emotion in the comments of strangers written on the internet.

That's what I'm really trying to say here, ladies and gents. Don't sweat the bad stuff, because...it doesn't matter.

orion0340 - But you've missed the point completley.

Whether or not you liked someone's movie, there's no need to start insulting anyone. Nobody is stopping you making your opinions known in a brutally honest fashion - it's just that Blaine's post clearly couldn't be construed as constructive criticism; it was an out and out (and imho, unwarranted) personal attack, with only one purpose : to annoy or upset another forum user. Some people might be inclined to call that trolling.

I'd not tollerate that kind of thing in real life, so why should I put up with it on an internet forum?

Sure you have, you're that renound forum A-hole, right? biggrin

Sidewinder is quite right on this topic though, as is Arktic. The only people to really show unbiased sense here...

Insulting behaviour is not acceptable, in any shape or form. Everyone has the right to an opinion, which everyone else has the right to disagree with. And from time to time things can get a little heated which is fine, you gotta heat the pot to cook a meal.
However, in some instances exampled in this thread, outright insults and unecessary, unhelpful criticism is going on, and it will stop.

It will stop, or necessary action to withdraw trouble making individuals will no doubt occur.
