With the new AlamDV 3 upgrade will it be possible to emulate the blood spray effects with one of the new plug ins such as Kill Bill or Zatoichi?

I assume it would be possible and rather easy with the new partical generator, but it would look much better to do the blood effects for real. It wouldn't really be too hard to do. Just a lot of fake blood.

Here's a link on how to do with for bullet hits, just apply that basic technique to arms/head wounds wink

Fake blood is bad because it stains everything. I once accidentaly sqeezed a tube of blood and it exploded all over my room. It was horrible. I've tried the recepices on Eejit and they all stain at least something.

Heres a hint, wear a costume and stuff. You have to use fake blood if you want it to look good. And filme outdoors. And put newspaper on the floor, all over it if needed to be filmed inside.

Woah woah, wait.

Kill Bill used real blood?
...
That movie's even more messed up than I thought. Still awesome though wink

And if you clean up the blood real fast, it shouldn't have time to stain too bad. Then just Clorox that mofo.

heheh you know what I meant razz realy fake blood.

On the Ichi The Killer commentary, Miike (director) said he uses CG blood because real fake blood costs too much, and CG blood is easier to clean up wink

I plan on using a combination of the two. Using real fake blood but embelllishing the spurts and sprays with cgi to make it more larger than life. Hopefully with the particle generator I will be able to do that without people knowing the difference. The problem I have with CGI blood is that like on Zatoichi there were times that it felt too fake.

Just to help you guys avoid confusion, and clarify a minor point here, any blood effects you use will involve 'fake' blood (I hope). Any effect that is done on set is a practical effect. Therefore, the two types of fake blood here would be CG blood, and practical blood.

Not fake real blood or real fake blood.

The blood sprays in Zaitochi were pretty bad - although it didn't take away from the sheer brilliance of the film. Zaitochi wipes the floor with Kill Bill.
Anyways... as for the blood splatters, I do imagine pretty decent ones will be available using Alamdv3!

I hope so myself - as I want to use them biggrin

Yes, I am a huge zatoichi fan yet have not seen Kitano's version yet. I own several of the some 27 shintaro katsu versions and I love them all.
