When I export/render the project (using various Codecs) the program looks to go though the process sucessfully but only creates a empty file (size zero) Can anyone give me some advice on this please ?

Have you tried rendering it out with no codec or as a different file format (If you've tried avi try quicktime and if you tried quicktime try avi.)

I must admit I have not tried Quicktime. I'm trying to create it as an AVI. I have tried it with various Codecs (supplied and Main Concept) and uncompressed but as I said the Alam seems to go through the process OK but the file it creates is Zero bytes. Thanks for your thoughts so far though.

Well try uncompressed quicktime and see how that goes. Also, how long is the clip?

Here are a few hints.

1. Save to a short path like straight to your main drive rather than in loads of sub folders.

2. Keep the name of your file short and simple and just alphanumerical.

3. Quit AlamDV2 before trying to open or get properties on the file you are making.

Hope this helps. It should work fine uncompressed.

The PC was connected through a video card to my TV (maybe this was an important point and an oversight that I didn't mention it) The fact is... I have gone back to a screen connection and......It now works fine !...Maybe someone can expain why this is so ? (something to do with what appears to be a screen scraping process that takes place during the render possibly ?)....Anyway it's something to try for the next unfortunate sole who gets stuck with this problem.

Glad to hear it's fixed.

Just to let you know, AlamDV 3 will no longer suffer from these sort of problems, as it will be using a totally different render engine. This should mean an end to certain codec problems and render problems that DV2 suffered from.
