in order to use the ones there i would have to get about 50 of the same plugin to make them all expand at the same time acting as particle.
my compy wouldnt be too happy about that biggrin

it is also an effect. it is a shockwave of air! (aka sonic boom) it is a sound but the effect coming from an airplane was named sonic boom.

I'm not sure what you mean by a Sonic Boom. Is it something like an explosion? I might be able to do it as fire and smoke arn't really a problem for me.

And Timmy, what you said was not only stupid but also pretty rude: He's requesting a new effect and if you think there's another way to do it with existing plugins then why don't you share how to do this? If you're not going to be helpful then don't bother posting.

This is what happens when something travels faster than sound:

A different, larger one

to get this look good you must use a 3d program or a program like After Effects, because of the fact that you must get the exact angle. The effect also altors the very video a bit. This brings us back to the old topic: AlamDV is not a 3d program.

Well you could do this with particles (and therefore prehaps AlamDv3 when it comes out) all you need is to make your particle system at the halfwway point along the plane and have them come out in a cone shape. I might have a mess about with this effect.

well i could tell you the angle i need. i just need it in the center of the quad and hame the cone/cloud sonic boom facing right. But i want it to look almost 3d. If you need a picture of the angle i need i can post it up

Well post up the pic and I'll see what I can do. If I do get the effect looking good I'll probably just send it to you as a tiff sequence so you can comp it into your footage or you can turn it into a plugin if that's how you'll apply it.
It doesn't make sense to submit it as a plugin as it's angle specific but I don't mind just doing the effect for you to use if I can.

well i'm sry but i lost the picture i rendered in blender and blender shit down while i was doing it. i guess i can just do it in like paint or something
all i relly want is the effect facing right. the camera is on the side of the scene and the character is going right so just a plain sonic boom going right would be fine. But dont make it too big be cause the effect doesnt fill up the whole screen only about half (Height wise) (left to right doesnt matter)
