Updated list and post: 15th September 2005

In America:

WholeSale replicas.
Expensive but beautiful.
Airsoft, Slingshot and BB.
Realistic...toy...guns..
Model Emart. -Recommended by fxhome member
A great selection. Fairly priced.
Fantastic American Amazon outlet.
Kapowwe - Wholesale new and damaged. Good Prices!

In the UK:

Cheap to Hire Replica Guns for Filming
Replica's from famous films.
Cheap and cheerful
Expensive but oh so beautiful.
An Airsoft Armoury

- If you'd like to loan some guns and rifles from me I have quite a few for the purpose of filming. Just send me an email smile

Hopefully these above links will reduce the amount of new topics we get asking where to get replicas from. I've chosen the sites from the UK and America that I've heard are very good.

ADVICE FOR FILMING:

If using replica firearms in a public or even private place, let the police know in advance (the local police of that area).
Also, take further precautions and if filming in a rural area let local members of the public know - if say filming in a village - post a letter through peoples letterbox in advance of filming stating what and when you are filming with these replicas - it's usually the public that inform the police.

Try and cancel out as much of the negative as possible.

You should be alrite if you have done all you can to make people aware of your whereabouts and filming.

Thanks to MailMan for the following information. Please read if your from the UK:

To have a replica gun in a public place is ILLEGAL in the UK, and Police do not turn a blind eye towards it. It does carry a jail sentence (and quite rightly too). I can't echo the words said earlier enough - tell your local police what you're doing, when and what with.

Even better places to buy Airsoft guns (in the UK):

http://www.airsoftscotland.com/
http://www.airsoftdynamics.com/
http://www.zerooneairsoft.co.uk/

I can't recommend those place highly enough for new guns.

If you're interested in buying secondhand, then check out the Airsoft Community forums and the United Kingdom Airsoft Network forums which can bothe be found through http://www.ukasc.net/

A warning to those in the community based in the UK i recently recieved a very stiff caution for buying a replica Glock pistol online. If you do not want an armed unit doing a dawn raid on your house be aware that the authorities are as serious about replicas as the real deal. I can now recollect with some humour but at the time...well you do not want to be facing any charge linked with firearms. So be careful buying from sites online...it may well pay to go down your local police for advice, sooner spend that time than tracking your shipment via customs and save the tax payer coughing up for the special unit. You have been warned dont tell me i didnt tell you so!

Good advice, but not really saying what people should do:

If using replica firearms in a public or even private place, let the police know in advance (the local police of that area).

This is a really good idea. biggrin

Here are a few websites that I have ordered from in the past with no problems.

www.airsplat.com
www.airsoftatlanta.com

This link primarily has swords and knives but it also has some airsoft guns.
www.budk.com

And I have also come across this link which also mainly has swords but they sell airsoft as well. I haven't ordered from them yet so I don't know how reliable they are but I thought I'd post it anyway.
www.blademasterswholesale.com

I would just like to add that most of these links have the same guns but the prices vary so be sure to check around so that you can get the gun you want for as cheap a price as possible.

Hope this helps.

Don't mean to be disparaging (sp?), but to have a replica gun in a public place is ILLEGAL in the UK, and Police do not turn a blind eye towards it. I try www.ebay.com for airsoft guns they have good deals like 4 airsoft pistols for 5.00 cheap and I like www.kapowwe.com there 3 broken airsoft guns for $15.00 or the 5 broken toy guns for $5.00 they are not broken like broke in half or anything like that just small things and the airsoft is the sameway and they said most of the time they are just missing a part of the gun like a clip and you can find them at there site I hope this helps.

amazon.com

CYMA guns are cheap and not the best out there but they sure look the part. I picked up a couple of handguns and a rifle and they're amazing. 2 of them are electronic and come with rechargable batteries and chargers. One of these is a handgun and it has blowback making it even better for making movies with as it looks real when fired.

Along with laser sights, torches etc, these are the best buy for movie props imo.

Airsoft make great replicas and stuff, but they don't do enough...well at least not for me. Blank firing pistols are were it's at. They do everything a real gun does except for fire a lethal bullet, i.e. the slide comes back, a shell is kicked out, there's even recoil.

So where exactly do I find those?

Edit: I'm a n00b, I should should look at what was already posted, so uh well thanx for already telling me.
These are good, cheap airsoft:

Cheaper than Dirt airsoft guns

Dude the best site for airsoft guns and gas guns is www.shortyusa.com I bought a shotgun airsoft rifle from there and it is so realistic!!! The only flaw is the orange tip. I just colored it over with a perminant black marker and it looks like a real shotgun!

Hey!

Just wanted to mention this site:
http://butikk.wasteland.no/catalog/default.php

It's norwegian, so the norwegian FXhomers don't have to pay loads of money in shipping! wink It's a pretty cool site!
