The Four Mission is the latest film from De-Evolution Studios.

Some of you may watch this movie and go "wtf?" because you don't get it. This is alright, because it is designed so that the average viewer will not get it now, but with the release of most shorts we do from now on, he will realize "wtf is going on".

The Four Mission is about an agent for "The System" called Number Four. He's on a very important mission... (hence the title). His mission is to intercept a shady character and get information from him... for a price.

Filmed in 2 days and edited for about a month, The Four Mission will hopefully make you smile, make you think "Wow, they know what they are doing!", or, "wtf?".

Please enjoy the film.

Some interesting ideas here.

Overall, quite a nice piece. In terms of editing, it's pretty good, with little I could fault you on.

The general plot is (though perhaps a little clich├ęd?) enough to keep the viewer's interest for the full 13 or so minutes.

I'd say that some of the acting was, well, wooden at best - I think you really ought to take some time to learn proper acting skills, as this was the only thing that really put me off liking this too much. Not to say it's a bad movie, I just think that your skills probably lie more in filmmaking than in acting.

Also, the effects aren't the best I've ever seen - Alam blood hits allways look awful (I've yet to see anyone use them convincingly), so I won't go on about those. In terms of the other effect, without revealing too much, it just looks plain fake. I think this is because Mr Pencil leans inwards before he is struck, which seems odd. But this is probably just an experience thing, now you know to do it differently next time.

All in all, a solid effort, perhaps let down a little by the acting and effects, but as I say, overall an intresting piece. I look forward to further installments!

3* from me smile

Cheers,
Arktic.

Story was fair enough, editing was very good (clever, gave me ideas)
The conversation was a bit long, but I gues it had to be. The sound was kind of bad, does not know if it was the compress... When he got hit by the car, did not look real.

Ah, and I gues there could have been more music used wink

I give it 3/5 and I hope your future productions turns out better.

the sound was compression. It definately sounds tons better in the full quality version. Oh and don't worry, If you didn't figure it out already, this is just part of a much larger story... one that has been going on for some time now without many people noticing... cool

not really a "sequel" cause they are both

OMG SPOILER

dead

END OMG SPOILER

so, a direct sequel isn't really possible, but this isn't the end of the system... and this isn't the start of it either...

But Evman, remember... Most people here don't like things that they have to think about, they like ACTION or STUPIDNESS! No need for sorrow.

Writer's Note:

This movie is in no way a political film. If you believe that by "The System" we mean "The Government", then you are wrong. If you want to think of it that way, then go ahead, but this movie was NOT created to make a point about politics. The System is something deeper and more logical.

Please don't mistake me or Evman as anarchists- we are just two kids with ideas and a camera.
Thanks.

This is weird. When I try to play the movie and it loads up, the clip is less than a second long with no video and i hear a guitar sounding noise.

The Good: Editing (quality was so-so, for the GL2)

The Bad: the acting

The Ugly: The overall film. "WTF?" was there a point to it? Was anything accomplished?

American Idiots was better, as I said before.

You obviously don't like mysterious things that much. And you obviously can't tolerate things you don't understand... thats cool. What movie really DOES have a point to it?

What would you rate it?

I guess this must also be why people don't like it that much. Well hopefully the next film people'll know going in that not everything will get resolved.

Didn't you listen to the movie? Number Four failed his mission...but learned his lesson.

But in the long run, yes, this movie is very important and you'll learn why later.

Erm, ever heard of compression?

The acting wasn't bad, especially for kids our age.

If you want that attitude, is there a "point" to any film, it i for entertainment purposes, and in my eyes it did just that. kept me going. And ever heard of "setting up for bloody sequels. (And other tricks that I KNOW Pencil has up his awesome scriptwriting little sleeve.

Thank you, and anyone would know I do have tricks up my sleve if they noticed the last 5 seconds of the movie (after the bloopers). Uh Oh!

Just seen this.

Good:
Even though it was just the 2 of you, a good amount of camera shots & angles, good job with that. Good editing in some places, especially the beginning sequence.
Evan's acting.

Bad:
Dialogue was...pretty bad. I saw what you were saying, don't get me wrong, but a lot of it was cliche, repetitive & nonsensical.
Voiceover would have been better if it mirrored the character's expressions - I suspect it was written afterwards to pad out the story.

To sum up, I liked the concept & Evan's acting but work on the script a bit more next time, this was the only weak point.

Here's the thing about the diaglouge - Evan's character (who will remain unamed except for the initals TC) was trying to confuse Number Four with his nonsense. It was the way that he talked that Four could have either accepted him as an ally or an enemy, and Four thought he was a threat. Down the road, you will learn that the repetitiveness was actually a distraction to keep him there for...certain reasons.

What I said about the dialogue applies to the voice over & read-out-lout note, too, i.e. I remember something in the note like "Hopefully you've learn a lesson" & then a second later "You've learnt your lesson"... if you have intentional reasons for that, fair enough, but don't use that explanation for excusing inadequacies in your next movie wink

just watched it. I like it, dialogue is funny in a cheesy kinda way. Funny when he itches below his nose. And I liked that matrix revolutions music(I think it was) after the death.
