Can you use a regular picture as a track and render a video over the top of it?

Yes, there is a tool on the toolbar that lets you extend the length of a picture. Normally a picture, when on the timeline, will be only 1 or 2 frames long. The tool is to the far left on the timeline, towards the top. I cant put my tougne on it, but try all 3 or 4 or whatever it is to see which one will work. Its like a squiggly arrow or something, and if you place it at the end of a picture clip on the timeline in chromy, and drag, itll extend it.

The best thing you can do is just devote your time to screwing around in it. I know all about it just because i played around in there for a long time. Great program, and easy to learn if you just play around.
