Hi guys. Made a post a couple of months ago but still having big probs trying to lad up a preset. I have changed it so it ends in ".tool_preset" as instructed by Tarn. But when I click load preset and and import it is nowhere to be found!

Would anyone be good enough to do me a step by step what to do? I've looked on the keying tutorial. There is info on it there, but had no luck with that.

My origonal post is about 15-20 or so below this one if you want to see my origonal problem.

Cheers guys

(I'm assuming that you're using Windows.)

To ensure that the file does not have an incorrect extension (like .txt which Tarn suggested), try the following. These instructions are for Windows XP, but most Windows versions are similar.

1. Open Windows Explorer.
2. Click the 'Tools' menu and then 'Folder Options'.
3. Click the 'View' tab.
4. You should see a list of checkboxes for various advanced settings.
5. Ensure that the checkbox for 'Hide extensions for known file types' is NOT ticked.

That is to say, you want to show file extensions for all your files.

Now browse to where you saved the preset and see if the preset file name looks like this: "mypresetname.tool_preset.txt". If so, rename it to "mypresetname.tool_preset" and then re-import it in Chromanator.

If not, then sorry, that's all I could think of.
